I came across a post in the German community today, with a list of personal facts about the author. It was fun and engaging to read, so others got inspired to post their own personal facts. I believe it was @janina86 who started it, and I thought it would be great if we all started doing that and invited others to join in.
It's a great way for us to connect more and get to know each other better.
So, I'm going to post my #funfacts below, and I hope you'll get inspired to post your own! I would love to learn something new about you!
Explanation below
Here are the rules:
- There are no rules.
- You can do this whichever way you want.
- 20 facts is a good number, but if you only come up with 10, thatâs fine, too. If you have 100 facts, then you can also make five posts of 20 facts. Why not? Your readers might think youâre a bit full of yourself, but hey, refer to rule 2!
- You can nominate others, but only if you really want to. Nominate as many people as you like.
- Youâve got some facts that are not "fun" at all, but show us the real, vulnerable you? Guess what, thatâs allowed, too!
- If you want your post to be seen by others who are not following you yet, use the tag #funfacts
- Check this tag every now and then to read fun facts about others and find new interesting Steemians to connect with and follow
- If you see a post that you think everyone should read (like this one for example đ), resteem it and help your fellow Steemians to get to know each other!
- You donât have to wait to be nominated! If you see any #funfacts post by anyone, just join in by posting your own!
- Engage, engage, engage!!! If you read particular facts that stick out to you or that you recognise, comment on them, ask the author about them. Tell them what you have in common. Connect, connect, connect!!!
So here we go⌠Anjaâs fun factsâŚ
- I love formatting Excel files... I consider myself 50% nerd.
- I like baking a lot more than I like cooking. And I tend to change every single ingredient, to make it âhealthyâ. Sometimes it even works.
- When my brother was 3 years old, he invented the âHumheumelâ [âHoom-hoy-mal"] - an animal that eats buildings and ships. Thirty years later I gave it a face, so now our whole family knows what it looks like:

- I eat Nutella with a spoon.
- I do have a sense of humor, even though Iâm German.
- Standing in front of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona was my first life-changing experience. Until the wall came down I thought I would never ever get to see it. Since then, I truly believe anything is possible. Life changing experience no. 1.
- When I work, I usually look like this:

- I used to be an atheist. I turned âspiritualâ pretty much overnight the day my dad died. Life changing experience no. 2.
- Iâm a C/S on the DiSC personality type model. Iâm an ENFJ according to Myers Briggs. Iâm a 5 on the Enneagram. I'm a pisces and a leap year baby.
- My love languages are quality time and physical touch.
The 5 Love Languages
- Since I lost my job in 2008 I promised myself to only do what Iâm inspired to do from now on, and always follow my joy. Itâs 10 years later and while itâs not always been easy, it works and itâs been the most creative years of my life.
- I once shook Karl Lagerfeldâs glove. (With him in it.)
- African drums mesmerize me.
- I'm a treehugger

- I donât cope well with âexclusionâ. I want connection and co-existence. I canât stand it when someone is excluded from something, whether itâs intentionally or unintentionally, whether it is myself or someone else. This also drives my work and who I serve. The reason I focus on women in the crypto space has nothing to do with feminism, but more with the fact that they are a minority thatâs so far been excluded. I want to help connect and integrate them. Itâs also the reason I lived with a Syrian refugee for more than a year.
- Once a year I fast and do nothing for seven days here:
- If I could bring only one book to a desert island, it would be the âHitchhikerâs Guide to the Galaxyâ.
- I love challenging my own beliefs and judgments. I love to contemplate if the earth really could be flat, no matter how unbelievable I find this thought. I love reading about the Annunaki and âAnscient Astronautsâ and all sorts of âalternative historyâ, and I love that I can live with not being certain about anything and being open for every point of view.
- My favorite movie is Awakenings.
I have a very weird watch that Iâve been wearing since 1995. Itâs become such a part of me that I would cry if I lost it. Other than that, I am not attached to any things at all.
My favorite series as a child was âLittle House on the Prairieâ. I think I used to be Laura Ingalls in a past life...
I love Americana and Country music from that time, too.

- Every couple of years I start reading A Course In Miracles.
- During a past life regression a few years ago, I ended up in between lives and found out who I REALLY am, and where my REAL home is. Since then Iâm not afraid of death anymore. We donât die. We wake up and find ourselves back at home. Life changing experience no #3
- In my next life I want to be Ricky Gervais.
- My favorite number as a child was âhundredthousandmillionandeightâ. Actually, it still is.
Someone take me there please
- My bucket list still includes these items: go to Namibia and do something meaningful there, see the Northern Lights, learn to ride a uni-cycle, learn to dance Tango, learn to surf, sing a Melissa Etheridge song in an empty stadium (or Annie Lennox), sell my blockbuster movie script to Steven Spielberg.
- I like making lists. :)

Are you up for this challenge? :)
For the sake of connection and community engagement?
Some of us have very specific niches and write only about certain topics, which is great, because their followers know exactly what they are going to get. However true connection comes from getting to know the human being behind their articles. After all, we're not just content machines.
Well, I'm looking forward to checking out the #funfacts tag in the coming days!
