Playing the Sims: Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello, and welcome to my blog- How to Play the Sims. If you are new, you can visit my blog and catch up by reading my previous posts. Follow me @simgirl to receive my newest posts in your Steemit feed.

Legacy Challenge

Josette, and Miles Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sims Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically, start your Sim out on a huge lot; with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.

The Steem house has been remodeled many times, since the creation of the Sim Girl legacy challenge. For those of you who do not know, our legacy Sim, Victoria, and the entire family, have had some sort of glitch, that has prevented the Sims in the Steem family from aging.

Victoria should be an elder, and truthfully, would have probably died by now. Instead, she is still an adult. Her husband Jack lived out his adult and elder years in this household, and has died of old age. I have no idea, when Victoria will be aging to elder stage, or if she will ever age.

In any case, Josette has become our legacy Sim for the next generation. We married her to Miles, and they have a baby on the way.

@snook and I decided as a bonus rule, we would be renovating, or rebuilding our house for each generation. This way it will add an additional decorating aspect to our challenge, which we love!

To remodel, I needed to completely redo the house, because I was not thrilled with the last remodel. I took all the items out of the house, tore down the inside walls, and then sold all the windows and doors.

Instead of building the rooms, the way I normally did, I decided to put the furniture in first, and then build the walls around the items. This made it easier to build rooms that were a perfect fit, and there was less wasted space.

The extra space, was enough to add a dinning room for the table and chairs. I made sure the bathrooms were spread out this time. Now there is a bathroom on both ends of the house. I attached the butler’s quarters to the back of the house, and added a fenced in back yard.

@snook asked, how I did the counters. To add different counters, you can select the counters, click on the colors, and then click on the gear icon, to open more counter options. You can also do this with the kitchen cabinets.

I sold some of the plants around the house. The Steem girls will be leaving the house, so there will be less Sims in the house to handle the harvesting. For now, the Steem house is completely remodeled, and is beautifully decorated for the third Steem generation to arrive.

It wasn’t long before Angelica Steem called, to ask if she could come over for a visit. I sent Angelica, Josette’s twin, out into the world. Now that she is out in the world, she will no longer be playable, but she can still visit.

I am hoping that after all the Steem girls leave the house, they will still be gathering at the Steem house. Since Victoria is not aging, she is racking up the skill points. Victoria’s cooking is maxed out, and she can now cook big meals, like a Thanksgiving turkey!

Since this is Thanksgiving, it is only fitting that the Steems celebrate!

Victoria cannot cook a turkey, but she can cook a roast chicken. The game offers the option for carrot and potatoes. Since I don’t know where to find carrots and potatoes, I am going to find out!

Carl’s Sims 4 Guide, again comes to the rescue. I love Carl’s guides!!! They are thorough, and easy to read.

Victoria will need to go to the Foundry Cove neighborhood in Willow Creek to find the potatoes, and Parched Prospect neighborhood, in Oasis Springs to find the carrots.

Plot Twist! Victoria aged up while she was out looking for the vegetables. Victoria will now see a wrinkled belly, frosty locks, and interminable naps.

I did find a little garden with a potato plant. I could not harvest the plant, but I could take a cutting. After Victoria got the cutting, she went to the park bench to take a nap. Victoria can finally enjoy her elder stage of life. I’m thankful for that!

By the time Victoria found the carrot plant, she was very tired. She may have to take a nap before Thanksgiving dinner.

I did manage to find lots of cuttings for new plants. Victoria managed to get cutting from strawberries, tomatoes, and sage.

By evening, the meal was cooked, Josette set the table with the fancy place setting, and everyone in the Steem family was enjoying their Turkey day.

I hope you have learned a little more about playing the Sims 4, and how to find, and gather the cuttings needed to plant new vegetables in your Sim’s garden. Be sure to check out Carl’s Sims 4 Guide, for a quick reference to find new varieties of plants. Each of the plants, will count toward the gardening collection in the game.

I am thankful for my family, my health, and everyone I have met during my life. I’m thankful for loud music, with lots of bass, for the internet, and for moving to a warmer climate. I’m thankful I found Steemit, and that I have been able to pursue different creative projects. And, I am thankful for my friend @snook, and super thankful that she is playing the Sims 4 game!

Oh, and I’m thankful that Trump is President of the United States!!!!!

I’m wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, and a blessed weekend.
