The End Of The Gardening Season

Even though it still feels like spring, most of the garden work is over. I took some photos today to show you guys what is left in the garden. The weather is so nice and warm for this time of the year and there has been no rain, so manual watering is also something that has to be done lately.

The one and only tomato we have in the greenhouse! Greenhouse is a new addition to our garden since this year and all we have now is green salad (for some reason the picture of it that I took wasn't saved on my phone but you can see a little bit of it on this picture) and one stem of tomatoes so we'll see how it goes.

More green salad and on this part that seems empty, there's spring onions planted that will later be transferred to the greenhouse.

Carrots! In yesterday's post I shared the carrot cake muffins I made and the carrots were from our garden, of course. :)

Beetroot! For the longest time, I wasn't a fan of beetroot but then, for some reason, I started liking it.

Hot peppers are still here. I don't eat these since they are way too hot but the rest of my family eats them, especially my dad. My best friend and her sister also love super hot foods so I brought some to them a few times when I was visiting and they loved it.

Broccoli is something we usually don't have in our garden, I think that this is the first time my mom decided to plant it. Maybe she tried once before, but it didn't grow. Unfortunately, there's not much of it.

Cabbage is a favorite at the moment and we eat it a lot lately. I love the salad with grated cabbage, a little bit of apple cider vinegar, oil and salt - it is very popular here in Serbia.

And this is how most of the garden looks like now, it is empty and it will be waiting for spring. It is still a bit unusual for me to see it this bare as I got used to all the veggies and the fact it was all green, with produce and... life! Haha!

I am so, so grateful for our garden and the fact every year we have our own veggies and fruits. We know exactly what we eat and even though it takes a lot of time, effort and hard work, it really is worth it. Of course, there are still some things we need to buy but overall having a garden, even if it's a small one, is a blessing!
