Hey fellow Steemians!
First and probably the most important thing I want to point out is that we are in charge of how we accept and react to different life situations. We actually do have the power to control our reactions and we can always work on our mindest. The journey to get there can be hard and long, but it's definitely worth it. It takes practice and dedication until it becomes a habit, a second nature.
I started practicing gratitude by writing 3 things I am grateful for each day, then the #gratefulvibes challenge was created so I started making daily posts about one or more things I am grateful for. After some time, I caught myself feeling grateful for some everyday things like being able to enjoy my morning coffee, a nice and sunny day and other simple things like that. Being thankful for the little things made me appreciate bigger things even more.
And then, when I was going through a hard time, I took a notebook and wrote down 100 things I am grateful for. I didn't stop until I wrote all 100. At the beginning it was easier, you know when you're listing some "obvious" things like family, friends, coffee :D but as the list went on, it got harder.... Then I stopped and thought about all the amazing memories, concerts, festivals, travels, people I've met, funny moments, my home, nature, food, animals, all the things I like about myself, all the accomplishments and proud moments... At that point, my brain was directed to think about the good stuff.
There are also other things that helped me a lot in changing my mindset and being more grateful, positive and focused on myself. Meditation, stretching, doing something I enjoy, reading books, spending time with positive people, staying away from Social media, going for walks - it all helps you re-connect with yourself and actually feeling deeply grateful, from the bottom of your heart. As individuals, we all know what's the best for us, what makes us joyful, filled with good vibes, happy and uplifting - we just need to allow ourselves to realize we are important, taking care of ourselves is important, lifting up our spirit and being the best version we can possibly be is important and that we deserve to have and feel all those good things.
I hope you liked this post and that it made you think about a few things you are grateful for. If you have your own ways or advice on what to do when life gives you lemons, leave them in the comment below. Have a great day everyone!
