I was happy to schedule this meeting with @ijelady who is a friend I brought to Hive. We have been together for years now starting out from Steemit. Although because of recent challenges she has not been so active on Hive. But I well know her ability to build teams and pioneer projects which was why I have been planning to introduce her to SpendHBD. More important, She lives in a different city - Uyo Nigeria. So SpendHBD will soon land in a different city and not just Aba and Lagos.
The Mentorship
@ijelady arrived at my office from.Uyo before 9AM today as planned. We have not seen for months so this is a good time to see again. Ahe came to.learn about SpendHBD with a view to pioneering the project in Uyo. I was happy to explain what SpendHBD is all about and why it is something so special that people of Uyo Nigeria should not miss it.
I explained how spendHBD works, starting from how to scan to make payments and also how to claim discounts. As a potential promoter of spendHBD in Uyo, I also explained to her the importance of meeting local businesses in her city and onboarding newbies too. I have already sent her some resources to learn more about different aspects of the project. It was not difficult for her to learn how pay and claim discounts. And she is a very good network marketer, so speaking to businesses about a new project and bringing new users is something she has vast experience in.
After spending so much time at my office talking about SpendHBD, we got ready to go to Gods Own Supermarket to see SpendHBD in action. I took the picture below with @ijelady at my office.

Once we got to God's Own Supermarket, I sent her some 1.67 HBD so she could use it and do small shopping. This is her very first SpendHBD experience and she was really excited about it. She bought bread and small juice. The QR code was generated and she quickly scanned to pay the amount. It was fast and easy.
Once the payment has been made, I showed her how to claim discount from distriator. She has a great device and it was not really difficult to claim her discount. She is a fast learner and was already doing it well. I captured this image below of her writing a review in the process of claiming discount.
While at God's own supermarket, we met @luchyl who was there to do her shopping too. We were happy to meet her and together we took pictures before leaving the place. You can see our images below
Visiting marajah's workshop
One of my team members who is also a local guide @marajah was hosting a workshop at Dikkies Supermarket. I already promised her that I will be around to support her presentation. So once we were done at God's own supermarket, I encouraged my visitor @ijelady to follow me to the workshop. She was happy to do that. By the time we got to the workshop venue, they are already helping newbies to sign up and shop. We greeted and encouraged them and also spent a little time with them.
After a while, @ijelady was ready to travel back to Uyo. So we all at Dikkies supermarket where the workshop was held took pictures and she left for Uyo
Conclusion
I am eager to see spendHBD kick-off in another major city in Nigeria which is Uyo. @ijelady is good at marketing and mentoring newbies. She has done it for a while as you can see in the two posts below:
