Art Talk: Desert Fiori

For 6 months I have been going to the Desert Botanical Garden regularly. Now I want to share pictures of pieces in Chihuly in the Desert that I have taken at different times of day, through different seasons and light.

Desert Fiori means Desert flower. I spent a lot of time by this exhibit and most of the people that walked up to it commented on how it looks like birds or specifically like flamingos. I agree it does have a beautiful bird like feel.

Whether they are birds or flowers they are really incredible glass sculptures that I loved to look at over and over again. The contrast of the orange and blue, the curves of the glass, the placement within the desert landscape. I will really miss it.

These where my favorite

I did some ICM or Intentional Camera Movement with the Desert Fiori and it is my favorite!

Here you can see the whole piece with the blooming Palo Verde tree in the back.
