Have you ever been to the United States Botanic Garden? It is one of my favorite places in downtown DC. I love gardens and every chance I can get to be among so many interesting and unique plants I take it!
The botanic garden is set up for different climates for the plants.
Tropics
I like going in here. It is such a different climate than the one I am in everyday.

Orchids

Yes, these are orchids too.
According to the sign,
Some orchids masquerade as female insects to attract males. Others lure visitors with the scent of food. There are even orchids with petals so slippery that insects slide into the center of the flower and pick up pollen as they crawl out.
Bees and wasps commonly pollinate orchids, but some species entice moths, butterflies, flies or even birds.
World Deserts
Since I am very familiar with desert plants I didn't take too many in here. I did talk to a local woman who told me about Hillwood estates. I went and it was spectacular! I can't wait to share it with you.

Garden Court
Surprising I didn't take any pictures in here. There are rotating exhibits here that are really cool. It is a beautiful space.
Outside
The botanic garden is very close to the United States capitol.

I had a nice time sitting on these rocking chairs chatting with my family looking at the capitol.
As with most of the museums and buildings on the National Mall the US Botanic Garden is free and well worth a visit.
