National Mall
The National Mall is a two mile stretch of grass, museums, gardens and memorials and monuments from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial.

National Gallery of Art
The National Gallery of Art is one of my favorite places in DC. It is located on the National Mall and is free to enter. It has two buildings (east and west) and a sculpture garden.

National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden
*The sculpture garden was established in 1999 and has 21 works of modern art throughout. It also has a ice rink in the winter and fountain in the summer. *

A modern art museum located on the National Mall.

US Capitol
The US Capitol is the house of government for the United States. It is a stunning building inside and out. One of my favorite things is that each state has tow sculptures of people important to their state throughout the building.

Jefferson Memorial
The Jefferson Memorial was built in 1943 to honor Thomas Jefferson, the third United States president.

Washington Monument
The Washington Monument was completed in 1884 to honor George Washington, the first United States president. It is 550 tall and you can go to the top and see all of the DC metro area.

The George Washington University
Is a private university established in 1821. It is 43 acres located in the Foggy Bottom area of DC. And most importantly is my alma matter.

Washington National Cathedral
The Washington National Cathedral is an impressive gothic cathedral that started construction in 1907 and finished construction in 1990. It is the 2nd largest church building in the United States and has wonderful art throughout, specially the stained glass.

Hillwood Estate and Gardens
This is the house and garden of Marjorie Merriweather Post that is located in northwest DC. It is really spectacular, especially in April.

DC Temple
The DC Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is located in Kennington, Maryland.
