These photos were taken in Namibia. These houses are found in the settlement Kolmanskop. This settelement was founded in1908 when a German found diamonds in the desert. Namibia was a At German colony named German South-West Africa. Kolmanskop became rich very fast because diamonds were found in large numbers. But the people who once lived here left in the 1950s because richer diamond fields were found further souhs. To day the buildings are still here, but because Kolmanskop is located in the desert, then the sand has filled many of the building. But qute an interesting place to walk about among the houses still left.
