Me? Well, A Christmas Buzz Party at London Edition to Meet @steevc!!
Last year, @shadowspub shared with me that her #hivechristmas present to herself was the #kindlescribe, I was like, "a Hive Christmas present? Is that a thing?"
Shadows is independent as a cat and if she wants it to be a thing, then, "voilá!" It's a thing! "Note to self," I replied and tucked this piece of useful information in me pocketses. 🧙🏼♀️
Each year, by November 30 in London, all the shop and borough decorating for the holiday season is finished. The same is true at the Fitzrovia neighborhood SoHo - London Edition hotel, where the over-scaled yuletide embellishments were freshly fixed into position and the natural scent of balsam wafted through the lobby bar with every swing of the Berners Street door.
With the accuracy of the Heathrow Express arrival at Paddington Station, a familiar-enough looking fellow, a clear six inches taller than I imagined, stepped into the posh carpeted lobby. A real Englishman, stood before us at the swanky London lobby bar. I confirmed his identity. Indeed, it was one @steevc. Actually, he was the third person we had asked if it was him we were meeting. Shhh! 🤫 Don't tell him.
The call to, "what are ya drinkin'?" was "red." We got that one right. @bitterirony already had a bottle of Argentina Malbec breathing on the cocktail table. Pouring the wine, conversation swifty took off between the three of us, like youths sharing the "what did you get for Christmas?" reports after the festive family meal.
We quickly left the usual topics of English weather and London traffic for Hive specifics like "how long have you been on the chain?" and "what about that hardfork from the legacy chain?"🤣
We talked about playing live music, as the three of us are musicians. We chatted about running and the Stava to Hive integration steevc uses for ease of posting his workouts, and HiveFests.
I brought him the @hiq special edition magazine with @crimsonclad on the cover that was distributed at @hivefest -8 in Rosarito, Mexico. He said he was happy to add it to the existing issues he gathered from the Hivefests he attended. For @bitterirony, he brought a smart-looking official Hive cap.
Although I have work-arounds for social anxiety, I'm sure it didn't look like I was having any troubles at our tiny party of three. There would have been a party of 5, including @mcsamm and @collinz, but we totally missed that boat! Sorry, friends. I'm booking the next UK trip this weekend. Perhaps we can meet you in Manchester or Leeds in late February?
Here's my take away. The best #hivechristmas present I could ask have asked for was the tiny Buzz Party that @bitterirony and I enjoyed with our new best UK Hive friend, @steevc.
