Hello Hivers! Starting something new is not always easy but it can be if you have the right support to press on and achieve your goal.
I joined the Hive blockchain community on 2nd January 2021 and familiarizing myself with how it all works has not been easy. I did not know that there was an initiative dedicated to helping me out.
I came across @kenechukwu97's post on one of his January tasks and was shocked. How did I miss this? Thankfully, the host @starstrings01 informed me that I could come in for the February batch as that of January was closed.
What Is The Newbies Initiative?
The Newbies Initiative is a one month program geared towards providing support for newbies who want to thrive on the Hive blockchain community as quality writers. Its that simple but very effective. You can read about this initiative and the requirements from the original post.
Am I Qualified?
I'm glad February is here and this post is my application to be part of the Batch.
From the introductory post, there are some qualifications that must be met for me to be a part of this program. Joining the Smile discord is a first and I have ticked it off the list. I am fully on the Smile discord. I have posted my hive introductory post in the #newbie-introductory-posts room in discord.
An important qualification is that one must actually be a newbie. A newbie is a hiver with a reputation lesser than 60 and hp lower than 500. My hive power is less than 500 and my reputation is 58 so therefore I believe these qualify me for the initiative. I have set my earnings to 100% Hive power and hope I will be considered for the February batch.
Purpose Of Partaking In The Initiative
It is expected that once a child is born, he begins to grow. If he does not, it becomes a cause for concern. I choose to be a part of this initiative to grow. To grow my blog, to get more familiar with how Hive works, to improve in my blogging skills, and widen my knowledge. The benefits of this initiative are quite much and I would not want to miss out of it.
I don't know much about Hive but from my little experience that I have garnered so far, this is one initiative that every newbie needs and should not miss. I am not aware of any other on Hive and I see how rewarding this initiative has been after reading the January batch analysis report.
