Greetings my dear Hive community!!!
Good night, my dear Hivers!!!
This drawing is special because it was the first digital drawing I made in my life and what I find funniest is that I did it around my birthday, it was 5 years ago and it was quite an adventure to do it ππ So I chose it because I wanted to commemorate some things aahaha my first digital drawing, my birthday , what I have achieved in these years, etc .
I wanted to do this drawing in Corel Painter although I did some things in PS It would be like 70% Corel -.- 30% Ps.
This would be the third time I have made this girl since the first time was much longer ago but in traditional, I did it with colors although in the first version that I made in digital I did not make the mesh that she had in her eyes because I did not know how to do it π€£π€£π€£π€£
The first version of this drawing was quite funny because it was my first digital drawing, the first time with the Wacom and the first time on PS, I was more lost, the feeling of seeing things on paper and not seeing anything was crazy. on the tablet, I was not familiar with it at all and it took me a while to get the hang of the tablet. Monthsπ
----------Before-------2018---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After-----2023-----------
Making that drawing took me a long time, many days, in fact everything was a disaster, I didn't even know how to use the layers, I remember that I had an infinite number of them and all of them uncontrolled hahahhaha, I watched several videos and they always said that I should have everything separated into different layers to have Everything was more organized but I was worse, although doing everything in one layer like now was unthinkable aahahahahm
As the years went by I reduced the layers and I realized that I am more comfortable with less or just one as many times. I also remember that I used to look for brushes from other artists to "draw like them" I understood that that does not work and At the end of the day that won't make it look like them, you can even achieve it with other brushes, I ended up having a large number of brushes that are now used as decoration and only a few in my drawings I could count on one hand.

When I started this drawing I was clear that if I wanted to do this "before and after" I had to do the same position but with the improvements that I would make because of what I have changed these years, I have not been able to recover the original files of the drawing since I lost part of I was only able to recover a gif that I had made of the process, although it was very small I was able to save the sketch from there so I made the new version inspired by that.
I made this drawing in Corel as I've been doing lately, I started with some stains to make the base of this portrait, it's a little strange but it's okay to start with, I had the sketch at the top but as I progressed I added it. What I did was collapse everything into a single layer.
I had things a little more advanced, how could I describe the brushes that I use when I am drawing in Corel Painter because they depend on the style of painting, before I used to use Impasto brushes but those usually leave some texture but lately I have been using other types Chalk, Pastel, Crayons and some Blenders (These are incredible and with different results)to soften the strokes.
I have made some details for the clothes, although I changed that later, that seemed good to me now, I also made some spots where the pearls would be, I have improved the features of the face but I have also changed the size of the hand a little since It is very small compared to the body.
I was already improving things a little more and although I had some altercations with the electricity problem, the downturns and unexpected closures of the program made me lose work so I had to do and redo each time in many times and that is stressful. Some improvements on the clothes, since it was a bit pale before, but also the design and details.
I got tired of losing things in Corel and I went back to PS there I made some modifications and fixes but I also changed the style of the drawing a little so I made some changes to the face and lost a little what I had achieved before, after a power outage I lost the format completely, everything turned BLACK π€ so that was the most frustrating thing about this whole process, I have returned to Corel Painter with a version of the previous file.
Before going to Corel I did some things in Ps, like the pearls and those small details on the clothes, I also did some sequins, in fact it's the first time I did it, it's really great, I really liked that effect in the same way as do on the video so maybe you'll see it later. When I returned to Corel I re-did some things I had lost and improved others, I made some changes and I think I followed the timeline I had before going to PS, I finished the little things to make it look nice hhahahah, I adjusted the colors a few brightnesses and I think I had this finished, I hope you liked my new work and I'll see you tomorrow, my dear Hivers!
See you soon and have a good rest!!! π€πππ΄π΄π΄
