Greetings my dear Hive community!!!
Good evening, good morning, depending on where you are, happy start of the week. Today I want to show once again my practice with charcoal. I don't have much experience with this material, so every time I draw something for me it's a new experience.

What I do know is that, well, every time I draw I can understand the material a little better and I notice some things. I also changed the canvas to carry out this process. I had one that had a little more texture and, as I said a few days ago in the first drawings, I wanted to try charcoal on other canvases to see how it behaved.
I liked the texture that was left, I will keep trying.

To make this drawing I have used the following materials:
A 8b pencil
A Canvas
A charcoal stick
with that ready, I started to paint
With a few rough strokes, I made what would be the sketch of the eye, nothing too neat, but I didn't have to do it that way at the beginning since it would be a base for what would come later.

With the help of a small cotton ball, I smoothed out what I had before. It still looked a bit like what I had achieved, but it didn't have as many stains and I removed some of that texture that the canvas had.
After I had that kind of smoothing, with the same charcoal I made the lines that shaped the eye more defined, accentuating also shadows and creating a bit more volume, which was good but I still had some work to do to finish.

I had everything a little more defined and you can see the eye design better. I added some detail to the iris, some highlights and shadows, and I did the same things in the other parts of the eye. I also kept rubbing the cotton in some areas to make a little gradient, maybe.
What this drawing needed was those little details, besides the eyelashes. Something I realized with these drawings I made with charcoal is that they don't get along very well with graphite. I wanted to make some finer details with the tip of the pencil, but it was kind of hard to make it work. Well, let's continue.

To finish, I accentuated some shadows and lights. What surprised me was that the eyelashes turned out decent, even though I used a charcoal of a somewhat large thickness, as you could see in some previous photos. But well, besides that, I tried to clean up the design a bit with some stains that my own fingers left hhahaah, I was full of charcoal.
Thanks to everyone for watching my post, and have a happy and beautiful night
