Beyond Doubt (2).jpg

Welcome to my seemingly endless journey.
A trip that will take you to places I might have visited many moons ago.
It´s a tale that came back to me when I meditated on one of my past lives. A life I told you about in my unbelievable true story.

As promised in that story I will now share this story with you.

Chapter 24

Dear Reader, Are you looking for spiritual growth? Or is that growth finding you?

Do you delve into all those layers that lie between the surface and the deeper meaning?

Or do you fill yourself with superficiality to avoid learning too much about yourself?

Knowledge is power, as confusing as it may seem, the chances of it making you stronger are frighteningly high.

I am watching the young man getting up, and my eyes are probably playing tricks on me because the boy seems to have grown. His appearance is grander, and his movements are less skittish.

Numico walks to the edge of the forest and then disappears into the darkness. I'm worried for a moment, then the realization that he's a man now hits me again. Uncomfortable, but full of confidence, I wait for him to return.

In the meantime, I clean up the necessities of the ritual. They must not fall prey to dark forces. If they remain unguarded and unattended for a long time, this increases the risk that impure spirits will begin to inhabit them.

Over time, I do start to worry. It remains silent, and this forest is unknown to us. Its dangers have been communicated to me, but I have not experienced them myself. It can't hurt to take a look. I walk to the edge of the forest. When I look over my shoulder, I see our fire burning, and a little further on, the buffalo is grazing. A peaceful image that reassures me.

When I turn my head back and expect to stare into deep darkness, I stare into eyes that sparkle in the dim light of the stars. I only saw the eyes in this dark forest, my breath has caught in my throat and refuses to go in or out.

"Master, are you okay?" speaks a friendly voice. “Excuse me, Martio, are you okay? I still have to get used to our new manner.”

"I also have to get used to my friend, I also have to get used to," I mumble with a sigh of relief.

Together we carry a huge collection of wood back to what we call our camp. Numico raises the fire, and I take some flour from one of the cow's bladders, add some water and spices and place them in a stone dish at the edge of the fire over embers of what had once been a tree. Next to the bowl, I put a jug of water, to which I add some herbs.

"Unfortunately, I forgot the thè, I can bring back the taste a bit, but it doesn't give the strength that the village women give to our thè."

Numico's eyes look at me penetratingly: “Didn't you bring thè, very unusual for one of our tribe. What brought you to this?”

I laugh: "Nothing brought me to this, she is such a standard practice that I took her as a habit and so did not think to take her with me, since she was always there."

“Martio, believe me, they made you forget. It was a consciously planned event in your subconscious,” assays the man/boy looking very serious.

I look at Numico in despair: "What do you think, that it is not possible that I forget something?"

“Oh yes, that is indeed possible, but you or er you have planned this trip so carefully that this is something you could never have overlooked. This custom is so tied to who we are that it is as common for us to take in thè as water and roots.” Something in his words made me feel he was right after all, I had thought of so many things that it is strange I had never thought of thè.

“Believe me, there's a reason you forgot,” Numico continues, and I see his eyes glaze over a little.

“Ultimately, the great ones only carry out your own wishes. Wishes that you made known to them when you were on the other side. The guidance of the greats is ultimately the help of yourself to yourself. It helps you to remember things that you have been able to see clearly there, but that have been clouded by your human eyes."

"You once instructed them yourself how and when to help you, and if I'm not mistaken, this is a good example of that. Also, the fact that I am here to convey this to you, at this point in your life is not a coincidence."

"This had to happen, only in this way can you accelerate growth. A necessary maturation if we want to achieve our goal. A goal that we can both experience as present, but which at the same time, we both know nothing about. Being aware of certain things offers you more peace and space to come to the right decision or conclusion. That is why, especially at the beginning of this journey, the new insights will follow each other quickly.”

While Numico is talking I can´t stop thinking but why the thè? The smile on his lips indicates that he knows what is going through my mind. "That's the question, isn't it, why the thè?" he laughs.

"What I am about to tell the rest of our tribe does not need to know, only the initiates possess this knowledge. For they will walk between this world and that of the great. They must not be misled by false or impure images. In addition, they will be bearers of the knowledge of our food."

He pauses for a moment, “Thè has an intoxicating power, it ensures that we are better able to find the peace to meditate for a long time. It ensures that contact with our higher being is easier. It protects us from unrealistic delusions that can make us sick with fear."

“The sages of the village share their knowledge with their successors as best they can so that as little as possible is lost. You gain knowledge and insight through years of experience, only at a later age do some find enough peace to make decisions and choices, completely without the ulterior motives of the young wild spirit full of individuality. They are the conscience of the tribe. They determine the history and the future.”
