Share Our World: Makka Pakka's Field

We left Vorinfossen and headed east on route 7 it was gorgeous. It was September and the leaves were changing colors.

I was so busy taking pictures of the lake that I was surprised when someone asked "What is that?" and then we pulled off the road.

There were thousands of cairns on Lake Orteren. It reminded me of Goblin Valley in southern Utah. We got out of the car to take a closer look.

On google maps it is called Maka Paka's field. Makka Pakka is a character in the British pre school TV series In the Night Garden.

I have never heard of Makka Pakka so had to look it up. I learned that

Makka Pakka is a beige, small, round-bodied doll. He has three rounded protuberances on his head, ears and bum to represent stones that he uses to make into piles.

He lives in his rock cave and likes cleaning things, such as his collection of stacking stones, and sometimes the other characters.

Here we are- Scotty and Jodi with their creations and me loving it all!

Ok let's see a few more...
