Finding what to watch on Netflix is a titanic task, since the least I want to do is waste my time with a filler movie. The Netflix catalog is extensive, but it is also full of irregular productions. I probably like the productions that are bought by the streaming company more than the ones it makes.
But, France is a country that makes good cinema in fact I think European cinema has that je ne sais quoi, which makes it exquisite. The French seem to me to be more demanding with the content they bring to the screen, their stories are more complex and deeper than usual and there is always a background behind every film no matter how simple it is.
France is also famous for the Cannes Film Festival, the most prestigious event of its kind in Europe, which brings together the great luminaries of the industry. However, we always have this vision of glamour and privilege of Cannes, but the truth is that as everywhere in the world there are also people without access to the yachts and the ostentatious life projected by its waters.
What better way to portray this other side of Cannes than with a summer look full of eroticism and simplicity, but which still has a more complex background. Women in cinema are almost always portrayed in a misogynistic way, but not in "Une fille facile" (An Easy Girl). Despite its title, Rebecca Zlotowski (writer director) presents us with cinematographer Georges Lechaptois a different and refreshing story that reminded me of Call me by your name.
This film not only captivated hundreds of people in 2020, the year in which Netflix acquired the rights, but also figured in the top of the most watched films on that platform. It was premiered at the same Cannes Film Festival where it won the SACD award for best French-language film.
But undoubtedly I think the biggest hook was having been released in summer and the beautiful nudity of the actress Zahia Dehar, who with her stunning figure graced the visual part of the film very well. I enjoyed a different moment with this film, that is why today I bring you this review.
Encontrar que ver en Netflix es una tarea titanica, ya que lo menos que quiero hacer es perder mi tiempo con una película de relleno. El catálogo de netflix es extenso, pero está repleto también de producciones irregulares. Es probable que me gusten más las producciones que son compradas por la compañía de streaming, que las que hace.
Pero, Francia es un país que hace buen cine de hecho creo que el cine europeo tiene ese je ne sais quoi, que lo hace exquisito. Los franceses me parecen que son más exigentes con el contenido que llevan a la pantalla, sus historias son más complejas y profundas que las usuales y siempre hay un trasfondo detrás de cada película por más sencilla que sea.
Francia también es famosa por el festival de Cine de Cannes, el evento mas prestigioso en su tipo en Europa en el cual, se congregan las grandes luminarias de la industria. Sin embargo, siempre tenemos esa visión de glamour y privilegios de Cannes, pero la verdad es que como en todas partes del mundo allí también, existen personas sin acceso a los yates y la vida ostentosa que proyectan sus aguas.
Que mejor que retratar esa otra cara de Cannes, que con una mirada veraniega cargada de erotismo y simplicidad, pero que aun así ostenta un trasfondo más complejo. La mujer en el cine casi siempre es retratada de manera misógina, pero no en “Une fille facile” (Una Chica Facil). A pesar de su título, Rebecca Zlotowski (directora escritora) nos presenta junto al cinematógrafo Georges Lechaptois una historia diferente y refrescante que me recordó a Call me by your name.
Esta película no solo cautivo a cientos de personas en 2020, año en el cual Netflix adquirió los derechos, sino que también figuró en el top de las películas más vistas en dicha plataforma. Fue estrenada en el mismo festival de Cine de Cannes en donde obtuvo el premio SACD a mejor película en habla francesa.
Pero sin duda creo que el mayor gancho fue haber sido estrenada en verano y los bellísimos desnudos que realizó la actriz Zahia Dehar, quien con su impactante figura agasajó muy bien la parte visual del filme. Disfruté de un momento diferente con esta película, es por ello que hoy traigo para ustedes la presente reseña.
Synopsis
A woman takes a topless walk on the beach, she radiates sex, but maybe there is something more. This is how Sofia (Zahia Dehar) is presented. She is visiting Cannes where her cousin Naima (Mina Farid), a 16-year-old teenager on summer vacation, lives. Soon the two begin a quiet journey of discovery, but what comes easy, goes easy.
Even with her mother's disapproval, Naima refuses to do an internship with a chef and puts aside the acting ambitions she shares with her best friend Dodo (Lakdhar Dridi), to follow her cousin, six years older than her, a girl just arrived from Paris with a tattoo on her back that says "Carpe diem", a phrase that sums up her lifestyle very well.
Her beautiful figure attracts the attention of the younger men in Cannes, but she is for a different audience. She is more interested in older and rich men, who can offer her, even if it is an ephemeral well-being. That is how she meets Andrés (Nuno Lopes) and Philippe (Benoit Magimel), who anchor their yacht in Cannes for a vacation.
Naima sheds her innocence in quick strides, soon finding herself enveloped in luxuries and a life she once watched from the dock. Soon she too has "Carpe diem" tattooed on her back, as she discovers how her cousin achieves her goals using her beauty. Naima is a virgin and soon becomes interested in Philippe, a much older man who rejects her because of her innocence.

Pronto ambas comienzan a vivir un tranquilo viaje de descubrimiento, pero lo que fácil llega, fácil se va.
Incluso con la desaprobación de su madre, Naima se niega a hacer unas prácticas con un chef y deja de lado las ambiciones actorales que comparte con su mejor amigo Dodo (Lakdhar Dridi), para seguir a su prima, seis años mayor que ella, una chica recién llegada de Paris con un tatuaje en su espalda que dice "Carpe diem", frase que resume muy bien su estilo de vida.

My Opinion
Une fille facile has everything but a simple plot. By presenting two women opposed to each other, it confronts us with certain taboos. When we define an "easy girl" we do so by describing a woman who enjoys her sex life just as a man would, but because she is a woman it is frowned upon by society.
In this opportunity, Sofia, the character played by Zahia Deha, is a different look at the youth and women of today. A girl who enjoys her beautiful figure, uninhibited, without remorse and with a deep depression due to the physical departure of her mother is the main element of this story.
Naima, played by Mina Farid, is a teenage girl who is living her summer and the stage where she must decide what she will do with her life and is clearly the antithesis of her cousin Sofia. What I was able to deduce, is that the director Rebecca Zlotowski wanted to face those 2 sides of the coin, the same she did with the male characters. She does it without moral prejudice and much less from criticism.

Une fille facile tiene todo menos un argumento sencillo. Al presentar a dos mujeres contrapuestas una de la otra, nos enfrenta a ciertos tabúes. Cuando definimos a una “chica fácil” lo hacemos describiendo a una mujer que disfruta de su vida sexual tal cual como un hombre lo haría, pero que por ser una mujer está mal visto por la sociedad.
En esta oportunidad, Sofía el personaje interpretado por Zahia Deha, es una Mirada diferente hacia la juventud y hacia las mujeres de hoy en día. Una chica que disfruta de su hermosa figura, desinhibida, sin remordimientos y con una profunda depresión por la partida física de su madre es el elemento principal de esta historia.
Por su parte Naima interpretada por Mina Farid, es una chica adolescente que está viviendo su verano y la etapa donde debe decidir que hará con su vida y claramente es la antítesis de su prima Sofía. Lo que logré deducir, es que la directora Rebecca Zlotowski quiso enfrentar esas 2 caras de la moneda, lo mismo hizo con los personajes masculinos. Lo hace sin prejuicios morales y mucho menos desde la crítica.
The scene I most enjoy happens while Zlotowski, leads us to confront our own prejudices, because when a woman is too easy she is much less "capable" and while Sofia has a cross word with an older woman who tries to ridicule her, she responds at her own pace and dropping our taboos. No, she is not dumb and all her surgeries had not made her any less wise.
This film is full of contradictions, that world that the plot tries to capture, one full of complexities that surely await young people and that, within the sea of decisions, they must choose wisely their destiny. I recommend Une fille facile, because it is one of those hidden gems that Netflix has in its catalog and that you will surely like.
La escena que más disfrute sucede mientras Zlotowski, nos conduce a enfrentar nuestros propios prejuicios, porque cuando una mujer es demasiado fácil es mucho menos “capaz” y mientras Sofía tiene un cruce de palabras con una mujer mayor que la intenta ridiculizar, esta responde a su ritmo y dejando caer nuestros tabúes. No, no es tonta y todas sus cirugías no la habían hecho menos sabia.
Este filme está lleno de contradicciones, ese mundo que intenta capturar el argumento, uno lleno de complejidades que seguramente esperan a los jóvenes y que, dentro del mar de las decisiones, deben elegir sabiamente su destino. Les recomiendo Une fille facile, porque es una de esas joyas escondidas que tiene Netflix en su catálogo y que seguramente te gustará.
