ANTES ESTUDIABAN EN UNA ESCUELA QUE SE CAÍA A PEDAZOS. HOY, NI SIQUIERA TIENEN DONDE ESTUDIAR.
Una educación autosustentable es la idea de un grupo de docentes para dar una mejor calidad educativa a unos jóvenes venezolanos con discapacidad intelectual.
Para nadie es un secreto que la crisis económica de Venezuela ha afectado diferentes sustratos de la sociedad. Por citar un ejemplo, la calidad de la educación del niño y adolescente venezolano ha caído en picada como lo hace un águila para cazar su presa. Una situación que ningún docente, por muy buenas intenciones que tenga, puede frenar o revertir.
Escuelas deterioradas, salarios bajos, escasez de alimentos, falta de recursos y otros males que se unen al circo, representan los principales obstáculos para que muchos puedan acceder a una educación decente en este país caribeño.
Sin embargo, todavía quedan algunos bastiones en la lucha desigual por mantener un proceso de enseñanza cada vez más escaso. El instituto de educación especial José Rafael Revenga es uno de estos.
Ubicada en el Estado Aragua, atiende a una población estudiantil de más de cien alumnos con discapacidad intelectual, de 6 a 45 años de edad. Fue fundada en el año 2005 para cubrir una necesidad específica de la población. Desde entonces, la institución ha sido duramente golpeada por una crisis económica general durante 16 años. Y aunque aún la necesidad, que pretendió cubrir en un principio, sigue presente, los años y el abandono del edificio está dejando sin esperanzas de un mañana, no solo a los estudiantes, sino también al grupo de especialistas que laboran allí.
Estos niños requieren un espacio de aprendizaje muy particular debido a su condición, pero es mucho más difícil lograr el objetivo si el aula de clases está rodeaba de techos desvencijados, paredes con pintura deteriorada, filtraciones, escasez de servicios públicos y otra serie de inconvenientes que escandalizarían a cualquier inspector de educación del mundo.
Por supuesto que los docentes de esta escuela no se han quedado de manos cruzadas. Durante mucho tiempo han recurrido a la solicitud de ayudas a entes privados y públicos, lo que no es más que una forma elegante de llamar al acto de mendicidad con el que han mantenido a flote a este barco con el casco perforado.
Una educación autosustentable es la idea que finalmente mejor resultados les ha dado para lograr mantener el loable proyecto. La creatividad y el empeño han sido elementos clave para desarrollar un plan que les permita obtener los fondos necesarios para realizar las reparaciones. Todos los involucrados han decidido utilizar uno de los espacios del lugar para fabricar pan de forma artesanal y venderlos a la comunidad. El dinero obtenido servirá para costear las numerosas reparaciones de la infraestructura.
Se requiere una gran pasión y una enorme vocación de enseñanza para intentar mantener con vida las aspiraciones educativas de niños, padres y maestros.
Considerando las palabras de la actual directora del plantel educativo, Yoliszeth Aponte, quien dijo: “queremos que ellos (niños y maestros) tengan un espacio acorde para poder realizar todas las actividades laborales y pedagógicas, es la razón por la que necesitamos el proyecto”. Es difícil imaginar cómo pueden cristalizar ese sueño sin contar con una fuente fiable y estable de ingresos y recursos.
Durante años, el personal administrativo ha tratado de mejorar la situación estructural de la escuela. Decxy Molina, quien fuera la primera directora del plantel, dijo que muchas fundaciones, empresas y hasta los vecinos, han hecho aportes con el paso del tiempo, un tiempo que por lo general es bastante largo y tardío, pero que al final han permitido que los estudiantes pudieran tener lo necesario para continuar sus clases.

Pero hoy, se requiere de algo más que un apoyo eventual. Es necesario una recuperación total del espacio educativo sin postergaciones de ningún tipo.
El plan.
Los venezolanos se caracterizan por su amplia creatividad a la hora de hacer frente a los innumerables problemas que sufren a diario. Los docentes de esta escuela han decidido ir más allá de la función de maestros y convertirse en administradores, vendedores, artesanos y publicistas para dar con una fórmula que les permita seguir en funcionamiento y atender a sus alumnos.
La escuela recibió una donación de un espacio que utilizan para impartir clases de un “Taller de Educación Laboral”. Elizabeth Cardona, directora de este taller, explica que la finalidad del mismo es capacitar a los estudiantes en un oficio para poder insertarlos laboralmente en la comunidad. La idea actual consiste en producir panes y venderlos a la población local.
Los alumnos que estudian en la escuela reciben conocimientos sobre panadería (anteriormente aprendían otros oficios adicionales) y se espera que con este trabajo en particular se pueda ejecutar un modelo de auto sustentabilidad. Estos estudiantes usarán sus habilidades, ayudados por algunos docentes, y crearán una serie de productos que tienen buena demanda en la zona.
Las ganancias que generará este trabajo se destinarán a las reparaciones de la infraestructura desvencijada de la escuela, al menos ese es el plan, pues se requiere que el mismo taller reciba mejoras y un acondicionamiento adecuado para estar plenamente operativo. Tan solo como ejemplo, al principio se analizó la posible demolición del techo actual del galpón donde funciona.
Harán falta muchas manos y una buena cantidad de dinero para que el galpón destinado a la empresa autosustentable de estos niños pueda albergar de forma efectiva una panadería. Afortunadamente, proyectos como este están recibiendo una buena acogida dentro del ecosistema de Hive, el cual cuenta con un fondo para el desarrollo de actividades dirigidas a beneficiar de forma real y duradera a la gente.
Justo ahora existe un equipo de usuarios de la plataforma, que de manera voluntaria, están trabajando muy duro para que este proyecto de emprendimiento tenga éxito.

El primer objetivo a lograr es conseguir el dinero suficiente para la reparación y acondicionamiento total del galpón donde funcionará la Panadería Revenga. Sería ideal que este dinero alcanzará para impulsar los primeros meses de funcionamiento y asegurarse de que el barco no naufrague en su primer viaje.
Pero en las deterioradas condiciones económicas de Venezuela no es fácil siquiera conseguir artículos de primera necesidad, por lo que el equipo a cargo de las gestiones redobla sus esfuerzos para hacer frente a las carencias. Están convencidos de que podrán operar la panadería en poco tiempo si reciben el adecuado apoyo financiero.

THEY USED TO STUDY IN A SCHOOL THAT WAS FALLING APART. TODAY, THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A PLACE TO STUDY
A self-sustainable education is the idea of a group of teachers to provide a better quality education to young Venezuelans with intellectual disabilities.
It is no secret that Venezuela's economic crisis has affected different substrates of society. To cite an example, the quality of education of Venezuelan children and adolescents has plummeted like an eagle hunting its prey. A situation that no teacher, no matter how well-intentioned, can stop or reverse.
Dilapidated schools, low salaries, food shortages, lack of resources and other ills that join the circus, represent the main obstacles for many to access a decent education in this Caribbean country.
However, there are still some bastions in the unequal struggle to maintain an increasingly scarce education process. The José Rafael Revenga special education institute is one of these.
Located in Aragua State, it serves a student population of more than one hundred students with intellectual disabilities, from 6 to 45 years of age. It was founded in 2005 to meet a specific need of the population. Since then, the institution has been hard hit by a general economic crisis for 16 years. And although the need, which it was originally intended to meet, is still present, the years and the abandonment of the building are leaving not only the students, but also the group of specialists who work there, without hope of a tomorrow.
These children require a very particular learning space due to their condition, but it is much more difficult to achieve the objective if the classroom is surrounded by rickety roofs, walls with deteriorated paint, leaks, lack of utilities and a series of other inconveniences that would scandalize any education inspector in the world.
Of course, the teachers at this school have not been sitting on their hands. For a long time they have resorted to asking for help from private and public entities, which is just a fancy way of calling the act of begging with which they have kept this ship with a punctured hull afloat.
Self-sustainable education is the idea that has finally given them the best results in order to maintain the laudable project. Creativity and determination have been key elements in developing a plan that will allow them to obtain the necessary funds to carry out the repairs. All those involved have decided to use one of the spaces on the site to make handmade bread and sell it to the community. The money raised will be used to pay for the many repairs to the infrastructure.
It takes great passion and a huge teaching vocation to try to keep the educational aspirations of children, parents and teachers alive.
Considering the words of the current director of the school, Yoliszeth Aponte, who said: "we want them (children and teachers) to have a suitable space to be able to carry out all work and teaching activities, that is why we need the project". It is difficult to imagine how they can crystallize this dream without a reliable and stable source of income and resources.
For years, the administrative staff has been trying to improve the school's structural situation. Decxy Molina, who was the first director of the school, said that many foundations, companies and even neighbors have made contributions over time, a time that is usually quite long and late, but that in the end have allowed the students to have what they need to continue their classes.

But today, we need more than just occasional support. A total recovery of the educational space is needed without postponements of any kind.
The plan.
Venezuelans are known for their creativity in dealing with the innumerable problems they face on a daily basis. The teachers at this school have decided to go beyond the role of teachers and become administrators, salespeople, artisans and publicists to come up with a formula that will allow them to stay in business and serve their students.
The school received a donation of a space that they use to teach a "Labor Education Workshop". Elizabeth Cardona, director of this workshop, explains that the purpose of the workshop is to train students in a trade in order to be able to insert them into the labor market in the community. The current idea is to produce bread and sell it to the local population.
The students who study at the school are trained in baking (previously they were learning other additional trades) and it is hoped that with this particular job they will be able to implement a self-sustainability model. These students will use their skills, assisted by some teachers, and create a series of products that are in good demand in the area.
The profits generated by this work will be used to repair the school's dilapidated infrastructure, at least that is the plan, since the workshop itself needs to be improved and properly fitted out to be fully operational. Just as an example, at the beginning, the possible demolition of the current roof of the shed where it operates was analyzed.
It will take a lot of hands and a good amount of money for the shed destined for the self-sustaining enterprise of these children to effectively house a bakery. Fortunately, projects like this one are being well received within the Hive ecosystem, which has a fund for the development of activities aimed at bringing real and lasting benefit to people.
Right now there is a team of users of the platform, who, on a voluntary basis, are working very hard to make this entrepreneurship project succeed.

The first goal to achieve is to raise enough money for the total repair and refurbishment of the warehouse where the Revenga Bakery will operate. It would be ideal that this money would be enough to boost the first months of operation and ensure that the ship is not shipwrecked on its first trip.
But in the deteriorated economic conditions of Venezuela, it is not easy even to obtain basic necessities, so the team in charge of the negotiations is redoubling its efforts to face the shortages. They are convinced that they will be able to operate the bakery in a short time if they receive adequate financial support.
