My fellow cetaceans! lend me your sound-receiving jawbones!
Side note:
The way orcas communicate is really quite fascinating. As you can see here, they have a fat-filled cavity in their lower jawbones that resonates with sound waves. They even use it for eco location!

Back to my speech...
We were born regular folk, just like anybody else. We are participants in this equal playing field with the same rules, the same opportunities and the same challenges as anybody else. We've made a conscious choice to build here. We've acquired skin in the game by fair means: investing time, money and spilling blood, sweat and tears on the battleground of these interwebs we call home.
We are here because we believe in freedom and know that in a decentralized network state such as the HIVE protocol, it is US who must build and use our stake to vote.
We don't need to agree on everything. In fact, we don't need to agree on anything except one thing: the fact that we need to acquire and use our stake to vote.
We must vote on:
- How the DAO, the Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF) uses its funds
- Which witness nodes are in the top 20 block producers
- What content on any one of HIVE's front ends is contributing to the growth and wellbeing of our ecosystem
- What content is undermining the ecosystem.
Anybody has the power to promote our beloved ecosystem and create awareness of the amazing tools that are available here for users and developers, however it is YOU, who wear a badge of honor, like a battle scar, that nobody can deny.

It is the badge of orcahood, which is synonymous of time, effort and commitment. Because of this, I believe in YOU fellow orca. I will read your content first, I will vote for your content with more power, I will join your contests and I will share your story. I will play your game, I will buy your token and I will read your proposal first.
Younger accounts (Minnows and dolphins) are not to be abandoned. Not by any means, but they are freshmen and must show commitment and desire to join the ranks of long-term believers of our beloved ecosystem.
I will support younger accounts with education. With tutorials like these:
- How to onboard a friend with Keychain
- Hive - understanding the currency and reward system
- How to swap from BTC to HIVE using LEODEX
and perhaps a little delegation to get started too.
We don't want people getting frustrated for not being able to make a post or edit their first post because of lack of resource credits. But after they've taken their first steps on HIVE, newcomers must learn about having skin in the game by building their stake. This is a fundamental part of being a Hive citizen.
Acquiring stake on HIVE is easy and available to all. There is a list of about a dozen exchanges where you can buy it (list here). Not to mention at least one decentralized exchange called https://leodex.io/
If they don't have money to spend, they can earn it.
If they create valuable content that educates, elevates, promotes and improves our ecosystem, they WILL get interaction from me. Some interaction. After I've checked their wallet, activity history and KE ratio.
Remember: everything you do is visible on the blockchain.
I will not support extractors or abusers.
Yes, it's a bit tedious, manual and time-consuming. I am willing to put in that work to safeguard the integrity of my home.
It is my job and yours, fellow orca.
You who wear the badge
You who wear the scars
You who has showed up regularly
My fellow cetaceans, I salute you with clicks, calls, and whistles!
We have a huge responsibility within this ecosystem. use your stake responsibly and show others how to do the same. It's in everybody's benefit.
