Whether it's our happiness or a goal we want to achieve, most times, we become a hindrance to our selves without even realizing it, we try to move somehow but it always seems like a futile effort, little do we know that we have somehow become an obstacle to our own selves, an obstacle which we so badly wanna crush but have no idea how to, well, because we have not really understood what this obstacle is about.

The toughest obstacle you will ever encounter is that which you have somewhat created and once you are able to overcome that one, it becomes easier to deal with others that might come your way.
But the thing is, we don't even realize how much obstacles we've created sometimes, we fail to realize how powerful our thoughts and actions are and how much harm they cause when they are not used in the right way. Now, that's not supposed to be like that.
Here Are A Few Reasons Why You Could Be Standing In Your Way
You've Not learnt Self-Acceptance
When we focus on trying to fit in instead of being ourselves, we miss the mark and might truly never be happy or live a progressive life. We can't live someone else's life because it's simply not ours, we have our own talents, personality and uniqueness, these are things we have to discover and embrace them.
Self-acceptance lets you free to be you not minding how different you might seem because you understand that this difference of yours is what makes you unique. And besides, the world need that little piece of you (which no one probably has) to grow.

Dwelling in Regrets
We all have them (regrets) but we don't have to dwell in them. All the mistakes and the steps you failed to take are a part of the past, and when you let them have power over the present, they steal your happy moments and hold you back from taking steps further. Learn from these regrets and move on, it's quite tempting to keep holding back but its really not worth it in the long run.
You Spend Way too Much Times Trying To Make Decision
Decisions which you may end up not taking. When we spend way too much time analyzing the "what ifs" just so we could make the perfect decisions, we end up not making that decision at all because the truth is, there are just so many imperfections in that decision and with more thoughts, we become more convinced not to take them. Once you feel convinced about a certain thing, go for it, don't spend hours or days (or even months) trying to think things through because it will only end up holding you back.

Holding ourselves back is a form of self-sabotage and a great deal of disservice to ourselves (and the world). You may encounter a whole lot of obstacle while on your journey, just make sure you are not one of these obstacles. And if you are, then you will have to work on overcoming that obstacle, only then will you be able to overcome the others.
