Snowflakes Are Useful Idiots: Recommended Reading List #3

I am a big fan of soft-spoken conservative Bill Whittle's Firewall. and subscribed to his YouTube channel years ago. This particular video, while not part of Whittle's Firewall series, stuck in my mind because of my Steemit series on the impact of today's millennial pajama boys (and girls...and dozens of other "genders" these morons would foist upon us) - Snowflakes - upon our society.

Whittle and guests examine the problem:

Without further ado, I present my latest collection of snowflake articles:

  • Airaksinen, Toni. Columbia students cover Jefferson statue in KKK hood
  • "Columbia University students recently adorned a Thomas Jefferson statue with a Ku Klux Klan hood to protest 'a man who is the epitome of white supremacy.'”

  • Aleister. Teacher Union Wants Profs to Give Students Extra Credit for Anti-Trump Events
  • "Faculty members at a Washington college are being encouraged to award students extra credit for attending a 'Day of Resistance' featuring a slew of events condemning the Trump administration.

"The event, sponsored in part by Shoreline Community College’s Federation of Teachers, the union representing the school’s faculty, was advertised in a faculty-wide email by English Professor DuValle Daniel, who asked her peers to consider bringing one of their classes to the May Day program."

  • Blount, Dave. College Students Taught Differences Between Furries and Pet Play
  • "Despite higher education having succumbed utterly to the cultural Marxist march through the institutions, students are still learning something. They are learning what moonbats want them to learn...Anything goes on college campuses these days, so long as liberals like it. But I doubt Nazi furries will be welcome to make a pageant of their perversity at Cal State.

"Members of the 'Mobilized African Diaspora' (MAD) student group subsequently published an open letter saying the statue 'validates rape, sexual violence, and racism' and embodies "the same threat that the KKK poses."

  • Hawkins, John. How Liberals Are Poisoning The Minds Of Young Americans
  • "As the late, great Andrew Breitbart said, 'Politics is downstream from culture.' Is it a shocker that millennials lean to the Left when they constantly have liberalism shoved down their throats by their schools, their favorite musicians, and Hollywood? Is it a big surprise that 51% of millennials do not support capitalism when we allow honest-to-goodness communists to teach them in college and liberals are publicly extolling the virtues of socialist hellholes like Cuba and Venezuela?"

  • Hogberg, David. Stop federal funding for universities and police that tolerate left-wing violence
  • "It’s hard to blame folks on the Right for showing up prepared for a fight, especially in radical whack-a-doodle Berkeley. The authorities there – if you can even call them that — seldom do anything about the Lefties who engage in violence. Indeed, the police in Moscow-by-the-Bay are always ready to accommodate the Leftists....

"Congress can fix the problem by enacting a law so that any college or university where an exchange of ideas is canceled because of inadequate security loses a year’s worth of federal funding. That means all funding, including money for students such as Pell Grants. Ditto for police departments that do not enforce the law."

  • Hughes, Brittany. Columbia Students Say They're Scared Of a Mean Thomas Jefferson Statue
  • "The group that’s so teed off about a stationary chunk of metal standing silent in a random building somewhere apparently goes by the Mobilized African Diaspora – or, ironically, MAD. The group has already compiled a laughably ridiculous list of demands over the past year, including that the school force undergrad students to take two diversity classes and hire more black faculty, just 'cause.."

  • Lang, Mary Lou. Students at Fairmont State Will No Longer Need Permission to Speak to Students and Canvass on Campus

"A student who was told by a campus police officer he needed permission to speak to students and gather signatures for his libertarian group on campus has been victorious and the university has revised its unconstitutional policy.

"The Fairmont State University Board of Governors voted to revise the university's campus solicitation policy which required students get permission to gather signatures on campus and pre-approval for any literature they planned to hand out."

  • Leach, Dave. UC Berkeley censorious snowflakes strike again!
  • "Not surprisingly, the target of these derelicts of discernment are often conservatives, or at least people with conservative leanings. The latest victim in their snowball fight against the free and open exchange of ideas—something college campuses were known for back when the word “liberal” meant that you were tolerant of the ideas of others—is Ann Coulter."

  • Lifson, Thomas. UC Berkeley surrenders to the fascists
  • "...there is no humor, ironic or not, in the cave-in to violence. There is only cowardice, and possibly silent agreement with the goals of the thugs by at least some influential forces within the university. Janet Napolitano, the University president whose background includes service as Secretary of Homeland Security knows a lot about law enforcement and the reservation of order in the face of serious threats, yet has been hiding under her desk."

  • McArdle, Megan. Berkeley Once Stood for Free Speech. Now It Rolls Over.
  • "In the 1960s, students at Berkeley helped change the world by igniting the Free Speech Movement, a seminal moment in the history of 20th-century civil liberties. Fifty years later, Berkeley leftists seem to have decided that free speech was a mistake -- and the administration seems intent on helping them roll it back."

  • Noble, Sara. Universities Are Becoming Leftist Indoctrination Centers
  • "The Oregon Association of Scholars (OAS) reported a very disturbing trend in an increasing number of universities according to The College Fix. Institutes of higher learning are requiring diversity statements as part of their hiring requirements.

Diversity includes a leftist commitment to “race, gender, economic justice or inequality,” according to the Oregon Association of Scholars’ report.

"It’s their way of keeping right of center professors out of the colleges and universities. Colleges are now leftist indoctrination centers."

  • O'Neil, Tyler. Brown University Refers to Accepted Female Student as 'They'
  • "Dean Powell’s letter also stated that our reader’s daughter had no doubt worked hard and made positive contributions to 'their' school and community. Our reader reports that his perplexed family initially thought that Brown had made a word-processing error. That was before they listened to a voice mail message from the school congratulating his daughter and referring to her as 'them.'"

  • Pandolfo, Chris. Harvard: Gender changes daily. Disagreement is violence
  • "Harvard University is using tuition dollars to tell students that 'there are more than two sexes' and that 'gender is fluid and changing.' The school is also telling students gender can change daily —sometimes depending on what people choose to wear. If you disagree with those statements, you are promoting 'systemic violence.'

"The office of BGLTQ Student Life has released a guide 'promoting delusions' instructing students to 'fight transphobia' and 'get the facts about gender diversity,' Peter Van Voorhis reports for Campus Reform."

  • Rampell, Catherine. A fraternity was told it was ‘appropriating culture.’ Administrators won’t say which.
  • "When the fraternity was accused of 'appropriating culture,' the obvious question was: Which culture? Latin? French? Marxist? Urban hip-hop? Maybe their own? After all, if you’re wondering who best epitomizes today’s upper-middle class, bear in mind that these are college kids whose parents pay extra money on top of tuition to throw parties.

That's it for this week - it's refreshing to know that we win one here and there in spite of the cesspool of Marxist claptrap?
