Unfinished Stories

Act by not acting,
Accomplish by not straining
Understand by not knowing.

The above is a tiny fragment of the Tao Te Ching.
About a month ago, I became very interested in the Dao or Tao and the way of living it describes. I discovered a little book called The Tao of Pooh in my parent's house.

It is a book so small, that you can read it in an hour or two. It might feel like it's written for kids, but there is actually a lot of wisdom behind the words. I am not going to tell you to read the book nor will I (try to) explain it. Let me just say that it opened my eyes to a way of life that is way easier, way more natural. A way of life that I have been looking for for a long time.

I decided to learn more about The Tao and found a podcast on Daoism. It's called 'What's that Dao all about?' and I enjoy it quite a lot.

Since I started learning about the Dao and looking at life in a slightly different way, I slowly saw myself changing for the better.

In short:

I am trying to be more and more true to myself these days and that also influences the way I create and the way I approach things, people and situations.

This also means embracing parts of me that I didn't embrace or might have seen as negative until recently. Take for instance not finishing things. It's actually very natural, but we are taught to finish things. Even my own father recently asked me if I ever finished anything?'. This happened just after I quit a film project*. If you're curious, you can read more about that in my earlier post:

Yesterday, I thought of starting a website called unfinishedprojects
and to display unfinished stories/ projects on there
from different people
for others to use and borrow from

One of my latest post was also based on unfinished stories, because you know what: why shouldn't we share things that aren't exactly finished. In fact, never sharing the process or unfinished projects is what makes people not finish things.
Alright, now I'm starting to talk in riddles. Here's a link to that post, for those who are interested:

To end this writing in a fitting way, I will just stop here. And you know what? I might continue it at a later time. Or not.

May the dao be with you! ;)

*There is a small chance my film will get picked up in the (near) future. I got back to talking and brainstorming with my buddy, who wrote its screenplay.
