With a war looming on more than one front on the seas this ship is about to enter service and stick its nose in whoever’s business it wants.
Some of the big players on the global stage seem ready to take things to the next level mostly due to lies and bad politics that are now coming to light. Let’s take a look at how influence will be pushed on the seas in the coming months.
This is a re-post of one of my first ever post on Steemit way way back when Steemit was fresh and I didn’t know anyone or anything about Steemit. I just wanted post stuff, like I do now but now I have more friends so I’m hoping you and they enjoy a post they may have missed from my past.
I have updated this post with fresh info and better appearance so it’s easier on the eyes, as any writer should do as things change over time. I also changed some photos as I found better ones more recently posted online.
This US$12.9 billion ship ** (last published estimate I found even after the update but it was reported to continue rise in costs) is the most expensive and most advanced ship ever built in the history of the world. It is the first in a new series of “Super Carriers” the US Navy is rolling out for the next couple of decades at least.
Its capabilities far surpass that of any of its predecessors along with all of its delays and cost over runs. Once it’s up and running it will be the monster of the seas.

It was scheduled to be deployed in March 2016 but now according to Wikipedia “The ship was not expected to be delivered until November 2016 and these issues were suggested to further delay that goal. I guess it won’t be ready as soon as it will probably be needed.
Named after the 38th President of the USA Gerald Ford who came in to power after Nixon resigned in a scandal.
Ford was considered by many Americans as being very in touch with the common citizen. He never got rich even after he retired from office. Homer Simpson was happy when he moved in next door.
What can this beast of the seas do and why those who see it coming will quickly rethink their next move.

Sensors? Oh yea!

Weapons? Yea, it’s got some of those.
Aircraft. Well of course, lots of them.
It has more flight deck and can launch and land 25% more flights than the next best US aircraft carrier.
Lasers? Yes, lasers. OMG lasers freaking cool.
Loaded up with Laser cannons that can shoot down missiles and fighter jets in an instant with surgical precision; Thanks to the new electricity generators less ammo will be needed to be stored opening up space for more jets and better technology.

How’s that for a cool ship? And without a doubt it will be sailing with a compliment of cruisers, battleships and submarines protecting the Jewel of the Navy from any threats. With satellite imagery keeping an eye on the seas for thousands of miles in all directions.
