The usual story of the swinging miners : rabbit and supercomputing
More than 2 weeks ago, I told you about the return of supercomputing in the mining queue, killing CPU miners' hope to find a few POWs and leading back to the usual duopoly with rabbit.
Surprisingly, supercomputing did not stay long and left as sharp as he had come back.
supercomputing was only mining on the 8th and 9th of November, and the small CPU miners were able to retrieve around 20% share of the cake, which even raised up to 33.75% on 18th of November. My friend @bitcoiner was more than happy with this situation.
What goes around comes around...
A few days ago, supercomputing has reappeared once more, to settle over a longer period.
We are back to a mining queue duopolized by rabbit and supercomputing, the last one being at full power, even if he did not blasted his last month's record of 79.43% he made on 11th of October (see here)
Here is the pow share table for November :
The share for small CPU miners has fallen down to an average 1.48%. That's not much, but still better than what they had in October, which was only 0.60%.
Do you expect me to tell you kind of same story next month?
Remember that hardfork 16 is scheduled on 6th of December and that this hardfork introduce Equihash Proof of Work algorithm (more on this here).
The goal of the algorithm change is
to make ordinary computers more competitive relative to high end GPUs with optimized algorithms.
What impact will it have on the mining queue population?
As for every good series, you have to wait for the next episode ... so, stay tuned !
Thanks for reading!
