So without further ado, my 5 picks for this week:
1. Room in Here - (Anderson Paak Live Cover) by Ladies Compartment
I was sent this link by our band's producer. Ladies Compartment is a band from Mumbai and these guys are just amazing! I am crushing on every member here! Especially the drummer's voice. 😍What a talented bunch they are. Everything about this cover is super cool.. and I haven't even heard the original!

This is such a heartfelt song! I heard this live on Sounds Of Steem on MSP-Waves and was so moved!
Love the banjo and the harmonies.. and the lyrics touch your soul!
I would love for this one to be properly recorded and produced. It's lovely ✨
3. Urvashi Urvashi (Hum Se Hai Muqabala) - A.R.Rahman
I was training a band for a medley performance last week and this was one of the songs in the medley. It is a song from the 90s in the "Tollywood" or South Indian Film Industry which was dubbed and released in Hindi.
After a long time, I got to revisit this song and appreciate the brilliance of A.R.Rahman. (For those who don't know A.R.Raham, he is the Grammy Winning Music composer for Slumdog Millionaire).
That Bass riff does all the work!! Genius it is.
4. Yanni - Until The Last Moment
I am learning this one currently. Hence getting to appreciate all the nuances of the piece.
Maybe once I am confident about it, I shall perform this one for the open mic :) Till then, close your eyes and listen.
5. Chet Faker - Gold
I love how this one is produced. The constant bassline is kickass...which vanishes for the verses and you have just the piano and the drums. The vocals are haunting. And the video is something you cannot take your eye off! 😍 I listen to this on youtube a lot of times just for the video!
