Sometimes I like to enjoy my walk in silence, without headphones, but today was not that day! :) I thought I would listen to a podcast or some sort of meditation affirmations but when I started walking, I realized I was actually in the mood for some uplifting music. When I got my dose of that and came to the narrow road where I don't like to have my headphones because sometimes people drive crazy and scare me, I continued my walk in silence. That was until I could hear birds singing and tractors in the distance. A lot of times when I listen to music, I get so into my head but listening to the sounds around you can really get you back into the present moment and more aware of your surroundings. So I started to pay more attention visually as well. I looked around at the trees, clouds, houses, people doing some work at their backyards/fields, birds flying...
When I finally came to the river, there was only a couple of people there. For the most part it was silent except the music I could hear from a near by cafe. I found a nice place to sit down and just look at the water flowing which I always find very calming. Being in nature, surrounded by water, trees, birds, sand, grass is such a nice way to relax, stay in the present moment, clear your head, stay grounded. I am the first one who doesn't really take a full advantage of living on the countryside so every time I come to this place, I get a reminder of this fact and I want to slap myself for being so lazy, lol.
After some time just chilling there, I had my banana and water that I brought from home. I usually don't bring any snacks, just some water if it's a hot day but I must say I was happy I got some fuel to keep me going. On my way back home, half of the way went smoothly but then I started to feel a little bit tired. It just shows me how lazy I got again this winter. I really need to shape up! However, I really enjoyed today's walk and my time in nature.
Every time I pass by this "house" I can't help but wonder how it would be like to live like this, at least for a while. My entire life I enjoyed the comfort of living in a house but I spend most of the time in my small-ish room anyway so I think that small spaces like this would not be an issue. If I had a piece of land, I would probably build a smaller living space and leave more of it for garden, nice backyard and anything outdoors.
