--Hello, my esteemed friends in Steem. Despite the constant blackouts, here I am again--
Today I would like to talk to you about a project that I have been developing for a while and that combines ecology and science with art and literature. Although the difficult socioeconomic conditions that we are suffering in Venezuela could induce us to think that protecting the environment is not a priority but I think it is the opposite: it's now or never, as the old song sung by Elvis says.

A multimedia "Atlas"
A programme of alternative education through the arts that has as its starting point the intention of propitiating personal - and human - relations with habitat, through the direct perception of it and through the spoken and written word, the oral tradition and the testimony expressed by those who share or have shared said habitat, thus strengthening the safeguarding of the natural and cultural heritage. To achieve this, the project proposes a series of activities that may include trekking, guided tours to places of interest, conversations and interviews, literary creation, visual arts, photography, history, geographical and scientific knowledge, and editorial production, in order to contribute to the development of environmental awareness and sense of belonging, by making available to children, young people and adults, a publication on the web and / or on paper, which combines autobiographical testimonies, oral narrations, literary texts, drawings, photographs, maps and geographical and scientific information about the Waraira Repano National Park, with the purpose of promoting targeted readings and other artistic and environmental conservation activities among the school-age population, secondary education and the community at large.

Creating an "Atlas" in community
The โAtlas Liviano del Waraira Repanoโ, " Lighweight Atlas of the Waraira Repano" Project, which is the result of the integration, by the artist-researcher who proposes it, of the experience in areas such as trekking, literature, oral narration, history, photography, performing arts and editorial production, as well as in cultural work with children and adolescents. Its purpose is to promote and stimulate knowledge, research, a sense of belonging and a conservationist attitude, through strategies based on leisure activity and artistic creation. As a result, it is expected to promote the collective creation of an "Atlas" of the community or region where it is developed, that is, an interactive space that, by encouraging the enjoyment of outdoor activities, literature, visual arts and scientific research, contributes to the sustainable socio-ecological development of present and future societies. The nature of it invites the participation of hiking centers, institutions dedicated to the preservation of the environment, artists and scientists in various areas such as geography, biology, anthropology, history, ecology, and so on.

In successive posts I will give you more details of this project that I try to carry out with great affection.
