Refutation requires engagement with ideas, and a striving to understand the truth. From it arise norms of civility, good faith among interlocutors, and a willingness to consider the merits of different arguments. It is easier to denounce without disputation, to assume someone is wrong without bothering to discover whether they are wrong or demonstrating how they are wrong. --Justin Dyer |
Et Tu, Boise State?
Idaho snowflakes want Political Science Professor Dr. Scott Yenor gone. Some of his professional siblings want him gone, too. After all, he's a (Cue Hillary Clinton) transphobic, misogynistic racist and a transphobic hater, right?
What, dear reader, did the dastardly doctor do to send Idaho snowflakes reeling into safe spaces?
On June 30, Yenor published a report for the Heritage Foundation: In “Sex, Gender, and the Origins of the Culture Wars: An Intellectual History,” he argues that today’s transgender movement arises logically out of the ideas of modern feminism. Both movements, he shows, insist that human identity need not be grounded in one’s body or one’s biological sex....and, adding insult to injury...
Yenor followed this report with an article on August 2 at the Daily Signal: In “Transgender Activists Seek to Undermine Parental Rights,” he describes how the transgender movement is in important respects a continuation of the goals of modern feminism as laid out by Beauvoir and others. Efforts to protect the authority of the family, Yenor urges, should therefore center on protecting parental rights, defending the current legal age of consent for adolescent sexual activity, and protecting childhood innocence from efforts to make public-school education ever more about modern sexual politics.
"Nazi! NAZI!", cry the snowflakes, while pulling, er, liberally on their pacifiers...because anyone who writes stuff using words of more than one syllable must be a Nazi. Or something.
The atmosphere on today's college campuses is condusive only to tyranny - and you and your children are paying for it. What could possibly go wrong?

Meanwhile, Back at Berzerkeley...
Over 200 University of California, Berkeley professors and faculty are calling for the shutdown of classes and activities during "free speech week," an event scheduled Sept. 24 to 27 that features some "alt-right" speakers.
This, friends, is how "liberals" (i.e. Marxist idiots) support "Free Speech Week": "Therefore, as faculty committed to the safety of our students and our campus, we are calling for a complete boycott of all classes and campus activities while these Alt-Right events are taking place at the very center of UC Berkeley's campus." For those of you who do not speak Snowflake, let me translate:
"Anyone who disagrees with us is an "alt-right" bigot who serves as a real and present danger to anyone with their head shoved so far up their ass that they can't see the forest for the commies. It does not matter what they say, do, or believe. They don't swallow our leftist agitprop, so we want to shut down until these meanies are gone."
Check this gem: "As faculty we cannot ask students and staff to choose between risking their physical and mental safety in order to attend class or come to work in an environment of harassment, intimidation, violence, and militarized policing." .
The only "intimidation and violence", of course, is coming from the Antifa thugs and the assorted gutter trash that follow them. Seems to me the only folks in need of serious mental examination are the professors and their worshipful snowflakes.

F*ck Free Speech!
Free speech is under assault on college campuses, which should come as no surprise to anyone who can walk and chew gum at the same time. The first example comes to us courtesy the cowardly liberal loons running Middlebury College:
Middlebury College is instituting a new policy allowing it to cancel speakers who are “likely to be the target of threats or violence,” effectively codifying the “heckler’s veto.”
Now there's a message! Middlebury has sent a clear one to Marxist/Anarchist thugs: The mere threat of a protest is sufficient cause to scrap the First Amendment.
Kassy Dillon reports that the new policy is temporary until it is replaced by “more permanent procedures by the end of the term.", which seems to suggest that the current plan to abuse the First Amendment will be replaced with a permanent plan to abuse the First Amendment. All, of course, strictly in the name of liberty. Ahem.
Middlebury can't hold a candle to Princeton:
During this year's annual Constitution Day Lecture at Princeton University, titled, "F%*# Free Speech," anthropology professor Carolyn Rouse argued that “the academy has never promoted free speech as a central value.”

Middlebury and Princeton aren't alone. The University of Virginia, following the violence at Charlottesville, has banned fire from campus display. Apparently, the mere sight of a flame might send snowflakes into a violent, racist rage:
Apparently, preventing that escalation includes sheltering their students from not only Civil War history, but also the mere sight of fire, which is now associated with white supremacy. It’s just as well, though— fire probably reminds them of global warming.
Makes perfect sense...eliminate all references to Confederate history and ban the use of fire, and the UVa snowflakes will be safe from offensive something or other. Got it...anyone got a match?
These are the folks who are indoctrinating your children, and they aren't shy about owning up to their Inner Fascists and advocating the overt suppression of Americans' First Amendment rights.
Tyranny and free expression cannot exist within the same tent. Pick one.
