Yesterday I managed to write my first invalid entry for the contest promoted by this community, where as a judge I can't compete. But, that doesn't mean I can't post those TV shows that have made me dream over the years. If I were to talk about how much I watched TV a few years ago, the list would be endless.
Soap operas, series, reality shows, reality shows, shows, and on and on, would be among my favorites. For example, Power Rangers was a series that marked my childhood as did Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Saylor Moon, Scooby Doo and Digimon. But as I grew up, other shows like Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Hannah Montana, Baywatch, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, ALF, The Simpsons, That's 70 show and many more series caught my attention becoming my favorites.
But, since I was a kid, I've been a fan of television, even though I don't have that much time to watch it anymore. And it is that television was a wonderful world, but it is also not the same to have a subscription on a streaming platform than to wait a week, a day or a few hours to watch your favorite show. That is why it was thought that television was going to disappear, but it has proven not to succumb to anything, as it has managed to stay in time.
Television is a means of mass communication, which brings images to the consumer in real time and this cannot be replaced from one day to the next. As a lover of television, I am sure that it will be maintained over time, especially if they continue to make good content. In Venezuela, for example, we used to enjoy an unbeatable competition among national channels, we had excellent soap operas, programs and variety shows, but this ended with the closing of the country's main network RCTV.
The economic crisis put an end to our television and as if that were not enough, creativity fled among the talents who left Venezuela in search of a better quality of life. However, we still remember programs such as Radio Rochela, Cheverísimo, ¿Quién quiere ser millonario, Diente por Diente and Aprieta y Gana, to name a few. Also telenovelas such as Mi gorda Bella, Estrambótica Anastasia, Mis Tres Hermanas and Kassandra.
Ayer logré escribir mi primera entrada no válida para el concurso que promueve está comunidad, en dónde por ser jurado no puedo competir. Pero, eso no significa que no pueda publicar aquellos shows de televisión que me han hecho soñar a lo largo de los años. Si me dispusiera a hablar de lo mucho que miraba la televisión, hace algunos años la lista sería interminable.
Telenovelas, series, realities, shows y pare de contar, entrarían entre mis favoritos. Por ejemplo, Los Power Rangers fue una serie que marcó mi infancia igual que lo hizo Dragón Ball, Pokémon, Saylor Moon, Scooby Doo y Digimon. Pero a medida que fui creciendo, otros programas como Buffy La Caza Vampiros, Sabrina, Hannah Montana, Baywatch, El Príncipe del Rap, ALF, Los Simpsons, That's 70 show y muchas series más atraparon mi atención convirtiéndose en mis favoritos.
Pero, desde niño, he sido fanático de la televisión, aunque ya no tenga tanto tiempo para verla. Y es que la televisión era un mundo maravilloso, pero también no es lo mismo tener una suscripción en una plataforma de streaming que esperar una semana, un día o algunas horas para ver tu programa favorito. Esa razón es por la que se pensó que la televisión iba a desaparecer, pero está ha demostrado a no sucumbir ante nada, ya que ha logrado mantenerse en el tiempo.
La televisión es un medio de comunicación masivo, que aporta imagen al consumidor en tiempo real y eso no se puede suplantar de un día a otro. Cómo amante de la televisión, si estoy seguro que se mantendrá en el tiempo, sobre todo si siguen haciendo buen contenido. En Venezuela, por ejemplo, antes gozábamos de una insuperable competencia entre los canales nacionales, teníamos excelentes novelas, programas y show de variedades, esto acabo con el cierre de la principal cadena del país RCTV.
La crisis económica, acabo con nuestra televisión y por si fuera poco la creatividad se fugó entre los talentos que se fueron de Venezuela a buscar una mejor calidad de vida. In 2011 "Tu Cara me suena" was born, a reality show where several celebrities have to impersonate a world famous star and choose a charity for which, if they won one of the galas of the show, they donated the totality of their prize to that cause. In each gala/episode, each of the participants are voted by the general public and jury, who give them a rating range from 1 to 12 following the same mechanics as Eurovision. However, in the beginning it was not like that, before only the jury could vote.
The program revolves around imitation, but not just any imitation, there must be excellence. Since they are evaluated by a jury that includes professional impersonator Carlos Latre, actor Ángel Llácer and singers Lolita Flores and Chenoa. Although when I started watching the show, Martha Sánchez and Mónica Naranjo were also on the jury. The one who has stayed on the show for 10 years is Manel Fuentes.
Cómo ven podría hablar de televisión por horas y eso que todavía no he nombrado las producciones mexicanas, colombianas y argentinas con las cuales crecí. Sobre todo, las mexicanas, pero si un país hace buena televisión ese es España. Definitivamente, España con su Operación Triunfo trajo el formato del reality show a nuestro idioma. Y ese es solo un ejemplo, ya que la lista es interminable.
En 2011 nació "Tu Cara me suena" un reality dónde varios famosos tienen que personificar a una estrella mundialmente conocida y elegir a una fundación benéfica para las cuales, si ganaban una de las galas del show, donaban la totalidad de su premio a esa causa. En cada gala/episodio, cada uno de los participantes son votados por el público y jurado en general, que les otorgan un rango de calificación que va del 1 al 12 siguiendo la misma mecánica que Eurovisión. Sin embargo, en un principio no era así, antes únicamente el jurado podía votar.
El programa gira en torno a la imitación, pero no cualquier imitación, tiene que haber excelencia. Ya que son evaluados por un jurado que incluye al imitador profesional Carlos Latre, al actor Ángel Llácer y las cantantes Lolita Flores y Chenoa. Aunque cuando yo comencé a ver el show también estaban Martha Sánchez y Mónica Naranjo en el jurado. El que si se ha mantenido en la conducción por 10 años es Manel Fuentes.

By then Melody, a girl who made us dance in her childhood, was participating as one of the guest stars of the reality show. What made me love this show the most was the level of professionalism among the participants. They seemed committed to imitating to perfection the stars that played for them. I was not surprised, I have always had the notion that Spaniards are quite talented people, they have proven it by making great shows, series and movies. Tu cara me suena, is an entertaining program that will surely catch you as much as it did me.
Yo me enganché con el show en 2014, mientras gozaba de la señal de Antena 3 en mi casa. Para entonces Melody, una chica que nos hizo bailar en su infancia, participaba como una de las estrellas invitadas del reality. Para ese entonces participaba con la actriz Edurne y ambas hicieron de esta competencia una verdadera batalla de talentos. Al final la ganadora fue Edurne, cosa que nunca entendí, ya que Melody ganó 4 galas y Edurne solo 3.
Así son las cosas en la televisión, al final ganó quien tenía que ganar. Sin lugar a dudas el nivel de la competencia en España es brutal y cada temporada se siguen superando. Tanto que sigue siendo en programa más visto en su franja de horario. No es para menos, las imitaciones incluyen a un selecto grupo de artistas internacionales como Pink, Shakira, Ana Torroja, Amaia Montero, Beyoncé. Lady Gaga, Andrea Bocelli, Christina Aguilera entre otros.
Entre los participantes que han pasado por este reality a través de los años tenemos a Ruth Lorenzo, Daniel Diges, Julio Iglesias, Jr., Roko, Carlos Baute y María Villalón. Lo que más me hizo amar este programa fue el nivel de profesionalismo entre los participantes. Parecían comprometidos a imitar a la perfección a las estrellas que les tocaban. No quedé sorprendido, siempre he tenido la noción de que los españoles son personas bastante talentosas, lo han demostrado haciendo grandes espectáculos, series y películas. Tu cara me suena, es un programa entretenido que de seguro los atrapará tanto como a mí.
