In the Spotlight
Another Big Week for Splinterlands
The new game mode called Survival Mode went live yesterday. Focused mostly toward older players with huge collections, it was awaited with anticipation by those who already made plans to participate. There's quite a lot of information regarding Survival Mode put out recently both by the company and the community, so let's mention some of them.
The official release announcement for Survival Mode came two days before the release.
In the same post, together with Survival mode were presented the changes to the Leaderboard structure and prizes. We are back to league leaderboards, and prizes were changed to Glint instead of DEC.
From the community. I selected this post by @beaker007 for those who want to play Survival Mode. Very good tutorial which can help you not waste time getting ready!
You can also consult the release notes to see what else was included in yesterday's release.
SPS Validator Nodes
Also this week, the SPS validator nodes slowly came online after being launched publicly last week. This is the announcement by the SPS DAO.
SPS stakeholders can vote on their preferred SPS validators using this temporary interface.
If you missed the recent Town Hall, discussing everything above plus the marketing plan, land and others, check it out:

Hive on the Rings
That's a word play, obviously, but also accurately describes a new development going on on Hive, or rather an extension of the NFC technology used for Hive debit card. And so... we now have Hive... on the rings. Check out the 2nd video from this post to know what I'm talking about.
The developer of Hive debit card and I suppose of these rings too, @jthomasewsky, participates and presents these days alongside two other Hivers at Modular Carnival in Brazil, as we learn from X.
More Thousands of Viewers Weekly from Reddit
As BlueSky POSH ramps up on Hive, Reddit POSH keeps sending thousands of viewers from that platform to Hive every week. Here are last week's numbers.
Governance / Development / Dapps / Education
Number of Limit Orders Per Account to be Capped on Hive-Engine
We find out from Discord that the total number of limit orders (both buy and sell) per account will be capped at 200 starting from March 4th. If the limit is reached, one would have to cancel some orders to add new ones.
Inleo Updated the DHF Proposal. Third Time's a Charm?
In the updated DHF Proposal, Inleo promises to open source their onboarding system, including future integrations, so that they can be used by other front ends in the ecosystem. They also made a few more tweaks described in their AMA (here), like the intention to bring on a partnership every 3 months instead of monthly.
Governance Needs Some Changes on Hive...
... according to many people. Particularly, a lot of criticism was brought to the DHF system lately. But ideas to improve witness voting system have sometimes been brought forward too.
Some interesting ideas for improvements of both governance aspects of Hive have been put forward by @achim03 in this post.
Clive Encrypted Profiles
One could set profiles in Clive, and the associated information was saved locally. From my understanding, it was saved in plain text until now, and now they will be encrypted. If you haven't used Clive before, that doesn't concern you, if you have, you will need to recreate your profile, says their post.
Guide to Change Private Keys on Hive
This is a good guide to have every once in a while. New users keep coming, and there's not always a clear way for them to learn everything about Hive.
Games
NFTMart in Maintenance Mode Only
That means they won't develop any more features and may or may not address bugs, depending on their severity, and at an extended timeline. They also recommend to have marketplaces in the supported games. Here is the short announcement.
As a result, Rising Star added a very basic bulk card sell option in-game.
Week in the Crypto World
USDC and EURC Approved in Dubai (DIFC)
Crypto needs to be approved to be used or promoted in Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), which is a special economic zone in Dubai for over 6000 companies from 77 countries. From my understanding, they are the first stablecoins to be approved in DIFC (certainly USDT isn't, yet). Read more.
Bybit Hack and Trade Wars Affects Crypto
Given the magnitude of the trade wars which have started and will very likely continue and worsen, the Bybit hack moved away from the spotlight, but it is still the biggest hack and crypto heist to date and being a tough indirect hit to Ethereum.
Many call for the start of the bear market. Even if that's not the case, crypto bled terribly recently. We also know markets tend to overreact in both directions, and because of that it is very likely to see a reversed action, to compensate.
