Happy Monday

It's a great time to be a Steemian. User numbers are up (according to Steemd). I've seen lots of cool new people here including musicians and vloggers. I'll be looking for some to feature in my Follow Friday post, so let me know your suggestions. I'm looking for people who joined this month for this week's post, but you can do your own post if you like.

Steem is at its highest price since last September. It's being carried along in a boom of cryptocurrencies right now, but I hope rising user numbers will keep it up there. We need people buying it up to boost their SP and using it to trade with each other. Of course a lot of people will be hanging onto it now in hope of further gains. I think it has lots of potential, but don't rely on me for investment advice. My plan is to wait until a single week of powering down will get me enough for a nice new guitar. That doesn't seem such a distant dream now.

The Steemit site stats are looking good too. The price of Steem will draw people to it, but we still need some good media attention to really make it go viral. With accounts being approved manually there could be issues if thousands suddenly try to join up. I know some people can't use their phones to verify an account, but are there ways to use other social accounts to reduce the risks from lots of fake accounts? Various sites let you join up with your Facebook, Twitter, Google accounts. We can make use of the controls those bigger sites have. You can still join up with Anon Steem if you don't mind paying for it.

It's an exciting time for this community. Let's keep spreading the word about the new wave of social.

Steem on!

I'm Steve, the geeky guitarist.

Mine cryptocurrency in the cloud at Eobot, including Steem. You can earn as you chat using WowApp. If you use these links I get a small reward. You can recruit others to do the same.
