There's a tradition of posting about hitting certain numbers on Steemit. I've even seen people parodying it, but there's nothing wrong with celebrating. It's not boasting and it may inspire others.
Anyway, I hit several numbers in the last 24 hours.
- 8000 posts and comments. I rank 16th for that!
- 700 followers, many of whom frequently comment.
- 10,000 Steem Power that's worth a few thousand dollars. The Steem price is fluctuating, but I have a feeling we won't see the lows of a few months ago again.
These are the results of coming here just about every day for the last nine months and talking to people. I'm no big celebrity and I don't have a big following anywhere else. I'm just an enthusiast who sees a lot of potential in the Steem/Steemit platform. It's already changing lives. Some people have been able to give up their job. Others are paying bills with their earnings. I think that's amazing for a service that doesn't rely on traditional revenue sources such as ads or subscriptions. Some will earn more than others, but I think everyone can earn something. The balance is likely to shift as it grows. It's still pretty small with 158,000 accounts and most being inactive, but it's gained thousands of new users this week and some are already doing really well.
These are still early days and those already aboard can build up their Steem Power to have influence later on. It will become a rarer commodity when the rewards are spread over many more people.
