Milestones are significant and Steemit has cracked another one by making it into the top 10,000 sites on Alexa. Of course these figures don't tell the whole story as they are extrapolated from a sample of users, but I think the trends they show are realistic. A few months back the site was rated around one million. The curve is flattening, but that is inevitable as each further climb is harder.
Further stats are available from Hypestat. This shows that Steemit ranks higher in some countries. It's doing well in the UK, but the best rank appears to be Panama. It's a small country, but something is going on there. India is a significant market. I don't know what proportion of the 1.25 billion population are on-line, but anything they can earn here can make a big difference to the lives of many when they might only make a few dollars per week otherwise.
Steemit cannot be valued in the same way as sites that rely on advertising. If and when big celebrities join up and bring their fans the value of Steem is likely to change. It's going to be interesting to see how big this amazing site can be.
