@oluwoleolaide and a old shy Tortoise
It's been days after the short trip to a Natural Reserve in the Outskirt of the city of Lagos Nigeria West Africa, took me a little while to finally finish the write up due to some reasons, one of it was a slight accident we had on our way back from the Conservation Center in Lekki, but this post is not about the unfortunate event later that day.
This is Christmas season, the period of more love and care and as usual i and my brother @peman always want to do some stuffs for the less privilege than us that we know just to show a token of our appreciation to Mother Earth. The plan was to check the resort out and pick a couple of this folks along with us on a trip and give them some nice treat, in the past we have done Movies at the Cinema and or the Beach. So this year we decided to do a more adventurous outing so we went for this sight seeing and Bird watching and then give some of our friends abroad who likes to sponsor part of the treat.
LCC- LEKKI CONSERVATION CENTER
This is the 78 hectare of land resorts we visited, a Natural Conservatory for animals and Exotic birds owned and managed by Nigerian Conservation Foundation, it is also the home of the Longest Canopy Bridge walk in Africa and the 2nd in the World after Taman Negara National Park of Malaysia which spans 500 meters an average of 100 meters longer than the one we visited. Naturally sustainable habitat for Wild Life and Tourist Center for the World. Although no Wild Beast of Prey were present at the Reserve except Hyenas according to our tour guide, Antelopes and deer are in surplus but you only get lucky to see some of this animals during the day because of their Nocturnal Characteristics. You could see some Antelopes and Deer if you travel deeper into the Forest Reserve but the chances of seeing Hyenas are so slim except at Dust and and early in the morning when the hunt.
Exotic birds seems they had a day off, we were only luck to see just a species of the Horn-bill bird, but some monkeys became so curious and decided to check us all out. Thankfully they were well fed otherwise they would have snatched the mobile phones and hold them in ransom for foods and treats.

THE CANOPY WALK AND TREE HOUSE

Base of the Tree House
A 401 meters long Canopy walk on a swinging bridge was the icing of the cake. The peak of this Canopy is over 20 feet high(about 10 story building high) and about 200 meters above sea level. If you are brave enough like me to get to the peak of the canopy;then you get to view the Atlantic Ocean about 9 Km away from the Reserve.

my brother @peman another steemit decampee

The Total time spent in climbing/walk the canopy bridge and the Descent took about 1:45mins. A tree house was another beauty to behold, though under maintenance so we were not allowed to climb it; the tree as we were told is over 100 years old hence a tree house was built on this giant Shea-Butter Tree as a Monument. Even though the day was ruined on our way back home when an SUV Jeep collided with us from the back damaging our tail light and a huge chunk of our bumper, yet the Reserve was a beauty to behold and i'll give you guys update on our next trip with some of our friends we intended to give a happy outing this Christmas. Thanks for reading and i wish you a Happy Steem-ful Christmas!
