But I wanted to start the story with an unusual bridge that struck my imagination. The bridge is called Kapelbrücke, which means "Chapel Bridge". As soon as I stepped on it, it seemed to me that I was transferred to medieval Switzerland. Probably, this feeling did not come about by chance, the bridge over the Royce River, really very old.
A little later I learned that this is the oldest wooden wooden bridge in the whole of Europe, and is a symbol of the city. It was built in 1365, the bridge is not very big, in length it reaches just a little more than 200 meters.
However, it is noteworthy that there are many interesting paintings on the bridge, I have never seen such bridges before. And the pictures there are more than 100, and they are unusual, all triangular in shape, near each one you want to stop and consider everything in detail. The paintings show important moments in the history of mountainous Switzerland.
I was struck by this high relief, located on a very steep rocky ledge behind a beautiful pond, which is located in the heart of the city. Long stood near this 9-meter sculpture, cut straight in the rock in a 13-meter niche.
Above the bas-relief you can see the inscription in Latin: HELVETIORUM FIDEI AC VIRTUTI
"Fidelity and courage of the Swiss." And the numbers 760 and 350, correspond to the number of fallen and surviving warriors. At the foot, right in the rock, are carved the names of soldiers and officers who gave their lives for their Motherland.
I was surprised a lot in this city, but most of all interested in an ancient legend, they say that:
When God created the world, he sent an angel to pour water into all the lakes. Flying over the Alps, the angel held a vessel with water in his hands, but accidentally touched one of the mountain peaks, and the water poured out onto the valley. On this place, an unusually beautiful lake appeared, the shape of which resembles a cross.
This is the famous Firvaldshtetskoe lake, you will agree to the beauty of the unusual! True, the water in it is very cold, but it did not stop the touching ducks, and graceful swans to bask in the cleanest mountain water. You can make a water excursion on cozy boats on the lake, and personally enjoy all its beauties.
