TwinnerTravels - Sardinia (3) - Capo d' Orso

Hello Steemians,

welcome to the third part of our trip on the island of Sardinia.

On the way back from the island Isola Maddalena to Porto Cervo, we made an intermediate stop at Capo d 'Orso. The mountain with the striking rock formations is located about 3 kilometers east of the port town Palau.

The sculpture resembling a bear, which is named Roccia dell 'Orso, is recognizable from far away and is one of the attractions of Northern Sardinia.

From the village Capo d Orso a narrow path leads up to the bear rock. One feeds on the bear from behind.

For some reason I have not managed to take a photo of the bear from the side, so here is a picture taken from Pixabay.

From the mountain you have a nice view over the bay to the island "Isola Maddelena". But you have to be careful here too, because it goes down steeply and there is only a narrow chain in front of the abyss.

Wind and weather have created very interesting structures over time.

The rock in the picture above reminds one of a duck. In the picture below you can see a bird's head.

Directly opposite the rocks the fortress Batteria di Capo d'Orso is located. The strategically situated fortress was very contested and was used until the Second World War.

The evening we enjoyed on the terrace of our hotel room with a view over the port of Porto Cervo.

Till next week!

Thank you for reading!
