This is a tutorial video that explains how to use GPG on Windows to encrypt and decrypt messages.
In short, here are the steps taken in the video:
- Download GPG4Win from https://www.gpg4win.org/.
- Install the program and tick the box that says 'GPA'.
- Generate a key pair, make a back-up file, and create a passphrase.
- To encrypt a message, first receive the other person's key and click 'Import' in GPA.
- Open Clipboard and write the message.
- Click 'Encrypt', select the other person's public key, and tick the box that says 'Sign' and select your own private key to sign it.
- Enter your passphrase to confirm.
- Send the encrypted message via any messaging system.
To receive messages from other people:
You'll need to separate your public and private keys.
- Open your back-up file with Notepad (or another text editing program).
- Select your public key and copy it into a new text file.
- Save the new text file as your public key and send it to someone else.
Tip: To separate your keys, you can also right-click on your key pair in GPA and copy it to make a new public key file.
To decrypt encrypted messages:
- Paste the encrypted message into GPA's clipboard.
- Click 'Decrypt' and enter your passphrase.
- Read the message.
That's all folks!
