Good morning steemit smoothie lovers. Another hot day is upon us and what a better way to start my two days off than with a green morning drink with bananas straight from the garden.
Though it supposed to be the rainy season and the start of the colder season, the changing climate is making sure we still get some more sun. There is nothing wrong with more days of sun, Cambodian people, however, really rely on the coming monsoon to start plating their staple food rice.
Though other parts of the country have gotten some precious rain, on the coast it remains very hot and super dry. Let's hope the rain comes soon so farmers will have time enough to grow their crop to feed their families.
How have you all been? I can't wait to go visit family and friends in Europe in less than 2 weeks...
I am already dreaming about the heaps of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries combined with lots of family and friends fun.
So be prepared for some berry dishes in the near future. If there is one thing I miss living in Cambodia, apart from friends and family of course, then it is fresh berries. Less than 2 weeks... woot-woot.
Anyway, today I am super happy too as we have bananas ready to pick in the garden.... so banana smoothie it is for breakfast.
BANANA ALMOND CINNAMON MORNING BLISS 🍌🍌🍌
INGREDIENTS (SERVES 2)
3 cups banana
Ground cinnamon to taste (I used a lot as I love the taste)
2 cups bok choy
2 cups almond milk
2 tbsp hemp seeds
DIRECTIONS
Blend almond milk and bok choy until smooth. Add all other ingredients and blend again. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw everything in at once. Add more almond milk or water if the smoothie is too thick for you.
Optional: Supercharge your smoothie with superfoods such as hemp hearts, chia seeds or goji berries. I used goji berries and chia seeds for this one.
