Work in progress, the drawing of the character - tableau en cours, le dessin du personnage [ENG-FR]

Hullo my lullabees !

Here is the WIP of a painting I'm doing right now...this is the sketchy part of the character who will be placed in a painted and probably colourful background ;-)
...here are the steps, from sketching to colouring ^_

Voici la progression d'un tableau que je suis en train de faire en ce moment ... c'est la partie dessinée du personnage qui sera placé dans un arrière-plan peint et probablement très coloré ;-)
... voici les étapes, du croquis jusqu'à sa colorisation ^ _ ^

When I am satisfied with my sketch I draw the lines with a fineliner Pigma Micron (0.005)

Lorsque je suis satisfaite de mon dessin je repasse les traits avec un feutre à mine ultra fine

I start coloring with a pencil (polychromos Faber-Castell) color "light flesh" which will be my base for the skin
the touch remains very light at first

je commence la colorisation avec un crayon (polychromos Faber-Castell) couleur "light flesh" (chair clair) qui sera ma base pour la peau
mon trait reste très léger dans un premier temps

then I accentuate this same color on parts of the face to model it with shadows

puis j'accentue cette même couleur pour créer des ombres sur le visage

and I perfect with a tone a little darker (cinnamon) that will achieve giving a relief to the face

et je vais compléter avec un ton un peu plus foncé (cinnamon - canelle) qui va achever de donner le relief du visage

Two shades of blue next for the hair, and two of green for the eyes, and same in pink for the lips...
Each time the lightest hue is applied first, then a tone darker to give a substance to a color that would otherwise be flat and uniform: the curves (of the eye or the lips) can appear only with a play of shade with the hues ;-)

Deux teintes de bleu ensuite pour les cheveux, et deux de vert pour les yeux, et la même chose en rose pour les lèvres...
A chaque fois la teinte la plus claire est appliquée en premier, puis un ton plus foncé pour donner les reliefs à une couleur qui sans cela serait plate et uniforme : les rondeurs (de l’œil ou des lèvres) ne peuvent apparaitre qu'avec un jeu d'ombre avec les teintes ;-)

And the eyelashes ! Ooh I love to draw long curly fancy eyelashes ! ^_

Et les cils! Ooh j'aime dessiner de longs cils fantaisie bouclés! ^ _ ^
