Last week I've been telling about one big and interesting order I've got from famous Russian cafe. I had to develop a series of take away coffee paper cups. While posting stories about each and every different cup I found a lot of sketches which had been rejected and I never showed them public.
Rejected Sketches
My client had some ideas asking to draw some themes like waking up students, parks, sightseeing etc. But still they had no strict task telling me just do something what you like. Offer some ideas to us. So I've done some of these sketches.
This was a tribute to the children book I was inspired with by Rebecca Dautremer wanted to create some nice feeling with umbrellas under the city rain.
This was just a starting composition point and I thought if they will approve it I will add more details and heroes there.
This is my favorite here. I just love to draw some crazy creatures, dancing and partying coffee beans...
And this one I even started to color but seems they afraid my little fellas to be too open and free for their style. I can understand they might think these characters are too cute and simple so it is more suitable for kids drinks but not for the coffee.
Still I am glad to find them all and happy to show these sketches to you. How do you think maybe I shall color and finish this last sketch so I will have my personal in the collection? I really like it...
