Welcome back! I am continuing the beach house story of How-to Play the Sims, with twins, Kathy, and Cathi Waite.
These Sims were created by my friend @snook and made in our images. If you would like to play these Sims, they are in the Sims 4 Community Gallery.
In the Cats and Dogs expansion, there is a nice fishing town called Brindleton Bay and I have built a house for these Sims, I have been calling it the beach house; even though there is no real beach there. I did use a picture of a beach house to build this humongous home, and a cheat code to give them the money to afford it.
Since then, I have moved Cathi and Kuro from the beach house, so I have only one Sim to play. For me, it is easier to play one Sim. Especially if they are climbing the career track. I am learning the Vet office as I go, so I won’t have to worry about the other Sims while I play.

Kathy is alone in the house now, so to provide her with social interaction during her day, I let her chat it up with the butler. By praising the butler, Kathy develops a professional relationship with him, and he vows to continue working hard. He will perform his duties faster, for a period. The more you praise your butler, the more they will do for the household.
She only has 11 more days until she becomes an elder, so I will need to do all I can before the next stage of her life.
I used the cheat code to give Kathy enough cash to buy the local vet office. The vet’s office is in the center of the map. It is already furnished and has all the items needed to run the office. I have not played this yet, so I am learning this part of the game as I go.
The vet office is complete with a fenced in back yard. There is a waiting area, bathrooms, and separate examining rooms. You can open any business using the cash register icon at the bottom left corner of the control panel.
Before you can run the office, you must hire a vet, and employees to run the office.
She traveled with her bathing suit on, and I didn’t want to have to go back to the house to change, so she will be opening her new vet office in a bikini. (She was in a fashion photo shoot for an exclusive Steemit Fashion group, called FashionMind, so she didn’t have time to change.)
By using the manage employee option, you can select the employees that will be working in the vet office. You can only choose one of them, and their qualifications are displayed below their pictures. Once you hire a Vet, they will arrive for work when the office is open. You can then manage them.
The skills for each Vet are, Veterinarian, handiness, and charisma. The Veterinarian skill affects the Vet’s ability to treat the animals, and their ability to diagnosis and treat them. The handiness skill will affect how well they clean, and maintain the office equipment, and the charisma will affect the Vet’s greetings and bedside manner.
All the Vets are low in the veterinarian skill, but they will learn as they go.
Cathi was the first customer to come in and brought Kuro in as the first patient. The number above her head indicates the opinion of the customer. The better the service, the higher the number will become. Right now, Cathi has a number three above her head, which means she has had a positive experience thus far.
Poor Kuro has a bright red nose. Who knows what that could be?
Kuro follows the vet into the examination room, so the Vet can find out what is going on.
After a thorough examination, Kuro was diagnosed and successfully treated.
After a short time, more patients arrived. Once the patient and the animal have been checked in, your Sim will no longer be able to interact with them. The only option there is, is to dismiss the patient. While they are waiting in the waiting room, you can have your Sim introduce themselves.
The ATM looking machine, allows the patients and their owners to sign in to be seen by the Vet. If you would like to discontinue registration, you can select the machine, and no more patients will be able to register, or be seen. You will need to do this an hour or two before you wish to close the vet office.
You will have an option for your Sim to greet each patient. Greeting patients will increase the business’ reputation and will reward the office with higher stars.
Once you greet the patient, they will explain that something is wrong with their pet and ask if you can help. You have the option to accept the patient or decline the request.
Once Kathy agreed to see the patient, she switched into her Vet scrubs and took the patient back to one of the examination rooms.
When the animal is selected, a menu of options pops up. You then have the choice to claim the pet, exam the pet, treat the pet, move the pet to surgery, or end the examination.
When you select the exam option, another set of options will appear, giving you choices of how to exam the pet. After a diagnosis is reached, they can then begin procedures to cure the animal.
When you close the office for the day, you will see the report. This will include the wages, supply costs, and the customer reports. Growth opportunities will be given. The advice I got was to clean up more, and to calm the pet during the examination. Since the office is new, the wait times are not long which is excellent.
I hope you have learn a little more about how-to play the Sims 4, and how to open a vet office in the Cats and Dogs expansion. Like any other business in the game, it will take time to build up the skills needed to progress.
