World Eaters - World Eaters Chaos Spawn

Right. A lot of Chaos Factions have access to Spawn but they do not play the same in all the factions. In the World Eaters army, due to the Blessings of Khorne that affects the whole army each turn, they are faster and hit harder than the other Spawns.

But let's look at the Spawns on their own. You get two of them in a unit for 65pts.

Statline

They have a 8" Move, so they are fast.
Toughness 5, 4 Wounds, 4+ Save, no Invul which is strange for a Daemon.
They also have 5+ Feel No Pain.

So they are fairly tough.

Weapons

In combat they can cause a bit of havoc with D6+2 attacks, Strength 6, Ap -1 and 2 Damage each.

Basically with some decent rolls they can kill 3-5 Space Marines in one attack!

Abilities

Finally they have the Regenerating Monstrosities Rule. At the start of the turn you roll a D3 and one model gains that many wounds.

They have 4 wounds so they can regain 1-3 Wounds.

Overall I feel that they can be dealt with fairly easily but they are a GREAT distraction unit. They are Beasts so they can move through Ruins the same way Infantry and most importantly, they have an Objective Control value so I feel they are a great unit to score Objectives with while bigger, scarier units roll around on the battlefield!
