On our way to the metro station, appreciating the neighborhood we were staying at and slowly saying goodbye to the city (in my head, lol).

Another picture of the Republic monument at the Taksim square.
One of the rare touristy picture I have from this trip, but it's also one of my favorites.
Breakfast time at a place with a cool wall art. I was happy to see Belgrade (Beograd) included! :)
Since I haven't tried simit - pastry with sesame seeds on top, I got this one in combination with cheese and other yummy stuff. You can usually find simit on it's on on the streets.
A short stroll through the streets before our mission to buy baklava.
How cute is this little... I don't know how it's called in English! Wagon?
Baklava mission accomplished! Our friend recommended to buy baklava at this place, called Hafiz Mustafa 1864 because it's good, with a long tradition and they also vacuum the package. I got one box of baklava and one small box of Turkish delight for my family.
This is how it looks inside. They measure every package and you pay according to the weight of the box. There's also different size of the boxes. Mine was around 9 euros and a small box of Turkish delight was 2,50 euros.
First coffee of the day at the same place we were the day before - Kitchenette cafe & restaurant.
After that we took a metro to the shopping mall, went to the market to buy some coffee, chocolate and other stuff we also wanted to take home. I also had another coffee, caramel machiato from Starbucks and guess what, I was Lina again. Haha!
Goodbye pretty building and friendly cats!
Waiting for the taxi to pick us up. We decided to go by taxi to the airport instead of metro, even though metro is way cheaper. Our ride was quite long, somewhere between 30-45 minutes because we also got caught in the traffic and we payed 75 Turkish lira which is a little bit over 10 euros, split between two of us.
Getting closer to the airport. It was a bittersweet moment, I was a little bit sad to leave since we had an amazing time and there is so much more to see in Istanbul but I was also happy and grateful that I was there and for the incredible moments and memories we made.
Another thing that made it easier to leave was the promise me and my friend made while we were at Starbucks the last day that we will come back, probably next year or in the near future. :D
This concludes my Istanbul travel diary. So many great memories to carry with me until I come back and create more. Thank you Istanbul, you were magical and thank you guys for following along this journey.
