Part 21

Puzzled at what had just happened, Tom and James looked at each other and held the look for about five seconds straight. They couldn't understand anything. Not Kirk's magical powers, nor his sudden collapse. It was all enveloped in a shroud of mystery.

In the time they were staring at each other Kirk had stopped spasming on the floor. Without saying a single word James walked up to him to check his vitals. No pulse. No breathing. Kirk was dead.

“Well, that’s a freebie.” He finally said, laughing and shaking his head at the unusual mishap.

With James’ words tom suddenly unfroze as well and joined him near the entrance to the next room. It was slightly bigger than the one they were in, had a large oval table in the center of it spanning from one edge to the other, and was decorated with loads of red ornaments and Cryosatane piping just the same. It must’ve been the room where Kirk held more private conference meetings with only the closest of his friends.

“Did he?” Tom spotted the broken jar on the floor, the glass shards still glowing a bright blue. “Did he drink this shit?”
