Playing the Sims: Moving on Out… And Then There Were Seven

Hello, and welcome to my blog- How to Play the Sims. If you are new, you can visit my blog and catch up by reading my previous posts. Follow me @simgirl to receive my newest posts in your Steemit feed.

Legacy Challenge

Josette, and Miles Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sims Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically, start your Sim out on a huge lot; with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.

On this episode of the Steem family… we are once again waiting for one of our Steem family members to age up to the next stage. This time it is Joy, who is waiting to age up to young adult.

Unfortunately, Joy did not do very well in the childhood trait department.

I would suggest, if you want to have a well-rounded child, do not play the Parenting game pack while doing your legacy Sim challenge. The stress of having little funds, does not help the cause.

Although, for being the middle child, I think Joy did very well under the circumstances.

I’ve had all the regular Steem glitches other than the aging hold. Josette had the bed bug, in which she will stand on top of the bed, and will not move until I move the bed. And then, every toilet broke at the same time. Jackie had to go to the bathroom, but first she had to repair the toilet…

Then she missed her bus, and then all the kids missed the bus…

I have the blinking icons saying the kids are not in school, but they are at school.

Angelica called and asked to meet somewhere, so I said chuck it, I’ll send them on a mini vacation, and just hoped the house was still there when I got back.

Not long after they were there, and a friendly ghost of the house made Josette some food, Josette went into labor and had to cut the vacation short.

I decided to join Josette at the hospital, with Miles in tow. She had a long labor, but Milo Steem was born into the Sim world, and is the very first BOY of the Steem family! Yay!!

When Josette and Miles returned from the hospital with Milo, Joy aged up! She was not able to gain any special traits from childhood, but she is given her final trait of bookworm. She is going to be a very smart lady. Let’s hope once she goes out into the Sim world, she can achieve success.

When you have a new baby in the house, your Sim will have options to care for the baby as they lay in the basinet. Your Sim can choose from these options as needed.

When the baby needs their diaper changed, they will cry and wake anyone in that room. If you have a butler, like I do, they will run to the baby anytime they cry.

Unfortunately, the butler has no parenting skills, so he stands there and coo at the baby, and won’t let anyone get to the baby to change him. Eventually, the butler changed the baby, and everyone could get some sleep.

Miles is learning quick how to be a parent, and has reached the Parenting level 1. Since he inspired, now is a good time to send him to the kitchen to make some food.

Miles has the food aspiration, and is taking steps to reach his life goal of master chef. He needs to cook one more meal while inspired, and then 3 more excellent meals. He is a very good cook already. A good family raised him.

Before Joy matured too much into young adulthood, I needed to transfer her out of the home, so that she can be played later.

I saved her both to my library, and to the Sims community gallery, so she can also be played by other players of the Sims.

I then, placed her into the world, so that she can keep in contact with her family in Sim time. She will age at the same time as the Steem family, and can visit, call, and go on outings with the family.

To make things simple. I moved Joy, into Angelica’s new home.

There are 2 beds in this home, so Angelica, and Joy should be comfortable living together.

I shared the Steem family without Joy, and with Milo, to the Sims community gallery, and then saved Joy and Angelica together as a household. Anyone wanting to play any of these households, can look up Steem to find them.

Once I was in the create a sim, I also gave everyone a new hair-do and outfit.

Now, I can’t tell them apart again.

I have to say that life is a lot smoother, with the Steem daughters growing up, Josette and Miles, helping around the house, an of course, having the butler.

All the Steems seem to have positive interactions with one another. I can now leave them to do what they want to do, instead of constantly making sure everyone is meeting their needs.

These Sim kids never want to take a bath. Franny is the last one to age up to teen, she will hop into the tub, and jump right back out. She will be a kid for 5 more days.

Carolyn will be the next to move out with only two more days until she reached her young adult life.

With all these children around, Grandma Victoria has reached level eight in the parenting skill. She now has a third option for all teaching moments. She can more effectively perform discipline socials.

Victoria is now 105 years old.

I hope you have learned a little more about playing the Sims 4, and about how to add, and remove Sims from your home.

There are many different paths to take in the Sims game. I have been focusing on the family in my Sim Girl legacy challenge, but since Miles has the food aspiration, I am thinking of saving up the household funds to build him a restaurant.

Until next time,

Happy Gaming- Sim Girl
