I have been drawing with traditional materials and that only means one thing, beyond the fact that I want to learn, it is that I simply don't have much electricity, that stinks a lot, but well I can't do anything about it no matter how hard I try. Dec has started and Christmas is on my PC, it looks like a little tree. I won't even write a DM to Santa to get a new UPS so my PC doesn't suffer, I'm sure I'll behave very badly this year😑🤐

Have you had the feeling of sadness, perhaps helplessness, of having wanted and desired, worked for something for so long, so long and when can that finally be possible? And unfortunately, life slaps you a couple of times and tells you "you don't get on this train, you better keep trying" sooooo you can't make it happen. You feel with your hands tied, defeated, tired, just a spectator without being able to do anything, is it fair? I don't know! It depends on how you look at it, but I do know it feels ugly. To do everything for nothing, but there is a consolation prize "it's there just, just! work harder to have it one day that's still not enough".

At least it's there, it's progress, maybe or a misfortune to make me feel worse.

Well, in short, that's my life every day.
Nothing is a surprise anymore, "it's normal!" I just have to hold on! But what, when I can't do it anymore? continue ! and almost on the precipice, well yes! continueeeeeee

Today I did something with graphite, not with charcoal, well in fact I wanted to try with both materials but I didn't like it so I erased it and only the graphite was left. I have some images of the process

I have started to make the sketch, this time I did it with a pencil 8h, it was soft strokes and would allow me to have an idea of what I wanted to do but without going into so much detail.

With the graphite I tried to follow the lines I had made before but it wasn't quite right, in fact I didn't want that, and well, the bar I have is a bit thick too, so it wouldn't be so easy to do small things, I would finish that off with the pencil.

Now you could better understand the girl's face, the handkerchief and so on. The good thing is that unlike charcoal with graphite, could make those adjustments and small details. The only bad thing is that it is difficult to erase. Even more complicated when doing it with the electric eraser, it fills with graphite and doesn't want to erase anymore, that doesn't happen with carbon.

With cotton I have softened the lines, and it has also helped me to add some more values, so in this way, I was able to add some soft shadows and fill the portrait a little more.

Unlike charcoal, graphite did allow me to use the red color, and it was quite intense since I added it to the drawing. By the way, I used the same canvas on which I made the eye drawing, there was some texture here too.

To finish this drawing, I wanted to fill the entire background with black using charcoal, and yes it looked very dark but then I realized that no, as it was before it was better, so all that was left was to erase and erase, after taking the photo and Taking it to PS I added a color base, but I didn't want something so saturated either, I just wanted it to look old, and the texture it has is good for that.
