As the good things always happen today I am participating in the FreeWriteHouse writing challenge "Maynia", which will be developing during the month of May.

Synopsis

In this story the adventures that Thomas had as a sailor are narrated, when he was older he was imprisoned on an island leaving behind in the city where he lived his daughter Mindy and his wife.

On the island where he had arrived with his boat, there was a discussion in the pub where he was sharing with his friends, a fight arose, so one of those present died and he was accused of it. He was then imprisoned, being subjected to a trial of which finally without relevant evidence he was sentenced to serve a sentence on probation, he was helped by Mary who invited him to his home for not having money to pay for his accommodation. Mary was have a daughter named Angeline who was adopted by Thomas who after a romance stayed permanently with her mother.

When Mary died, Thomas decided to return to the city where he found that his wife had passed away and that his daughter Mindy, of legal age, opened the doors of his house, lodging him there until he died.

He had left the charge to Angeline that in case he died she would do everything possible to travel to the city where her sister lived, which she did not know. When he arrived in the city and called his sister, he informed him of their situation that they were both sisters and that they had to meet to elucidate the legacy of their father. In the chapters that follow, the story is unraveled.

Chapter XII Crow

Succulent

When she reached the kitchen, Angeline felt hungry, although it was the first time she was in her half-sister's house Mindy did not hesitate to tell her. So after Mindy each took a little water to cool her throat, she took out of the fridge what she had previously prepared to offer her sister, from there she took a glass tray containing lettuce and tomato, in addition to it had prepared a salmon fillet for each one. After she served it, the presentation looked succulent and nutritious. Thus Angeline, not being able to remain silent when seeing the attention of her sister told her:

"I see that it is a menu of kings, you are going to make me lose my diet."

That said, they both continued talking animatedly while eating.

For a moment they forgot the reason for which Angeline was there, they talked about trivial matters both relaxed and began to lighten the emotional burden that had been imposed to review their father's personal items.

Once satiated they collected the dishes from the table, Mindy placed them in the automatic dishwasher which started it. Angeline surprised said:

"I see that this is a technological house, I have to wash dishes manually on the island, ha ha ha"

Once they finished fixing everything, they went back up to the room to continue with the task they had set out to do for that day.

Cloudy

Since it was a little cloudy the day they had to turn on the main light in the room and a pedestal lamp that remained like a soldier next to the desk. They took the leather satchel and the closed box and placed them on the desk table, the first difficulty being that they were both locked with a combination and a key. Both thought that they should break them to see what they contained, but after checking the drawers of the table, they located a small key with which they could open the box and in a pocket diary, after reviewing the pages, they found the required combination.

When they opened the box, inside they remained as if time had stopped old silver coins and some gold, which shone with the lights of the room, both excited with the discovery could not believe that the humble and simple man hoarded them. At the bottom of the box a notebook with a leather spine encouraged them to take it, taking it out from there they placed it on the table, the coins as they were many, they had to make an inventory they left them inside the box. Once the box was checked they went to see what the leather satchel contained, when they opened it they realized that it had several compartments that contained ringed folders with various receipts, so at the moment they were left inside it.

After reviewing the content of both, they encouraged to review the notebook, which had some surprises waiting to show them. On the first page, there with a loving dedication to the two women who had been part of his life, Mindy's mother and Angeline's mother. Beneath this dedication a poem expressed the love he felt for his two daughters. When they read aloud what was expressed with watery eyes they longed for the presence of their father.

Already in the subsequent pages, the life of the sailor that he was, was narrated with precise dates step by step. However, despite the fact that they could understand part of what he expressed, the language he used in addition to having a narrative with maritime implications, seemed to be written in an ancient language with undecipherable keys for them.

Due to the late hour, Angeline had to return home, so they decided to leave everything as it was.

Fairy tale Castle

Angeline hurriedly said goodbye to Mindy and walked the streets to the main avenue where she would take the subway. Already on the way inside the car she began to think about what had happened that afternoon, as she had imagined her sister Mindy was an organized and good person, she realized that she had cared for her father as he would have deserved.

Upon arriving at the hotel, after asking for the keys in the room and going up to her room after changing her clothes, she turned on the tv to listen to music, placed the lights in a half tone and already with a more relaxed atmosphere. Lying down on the bed, closing her eyes, with soft background music she fell asleep soundly.

Already at dawn a nightmare began to stun her in which at last a fairy tale castle with the moon in the background called her to go there, where her sister Mindy would be who she had to rescue. A black crow with bright eyes watched her closely. Even so, in the dream she kept insisting on reaching the castle, until suddenly she was awakened by an insistent phone call from the bedside table in her room.

When answering the call, a manly voice informed him that she should dress to go down the street since a slight earthquake had occurred and for security reasons they had to leave the building due to the possibility of aftershocks or a possible earthquake.

She was shocked for the moment, even though she did not understand the situation well. She simply turned on the lights in the room, dressed quickly and went down to the street.
