As the good things always happen today I am participating in the FreeWriteHouse writing challenge "Maynia", which will be developing during the month of May.

Synopsis

In this story the adventures that Thomas had as a sailor are narrated, when he was older he was imprisoned on an island leaving behind in the city where he lived his daughter Mindy and his wife.

On the island where he had arrived with his boat, there was a discussion in the pub where he was sharing with his friends, a fight arose, so one of those present died and he was accused of it. He was then imprisoned, being subjected to a trial of which finally without relevant evidence he was sentenced to serve a sentence on probation, he was helped by Mary who invited him to his home for not having money to pay for his accommodation. Mary was have a daughter named Angeline who was adopted by Thomas who after a romance stayed permanently with her mother.

When Mary died, Thomas decided to return to the city where he found that his wife had passed away and that his daughter Mindy, of legal age, opened the doors of his house, lodging him there until he died.

He had left the charge to Angeline that in case he died she would do everything possible to travel to the city where her sister lived, which she did not know. When he arrived in the city and called his sister, he informed him of their situation that they were both sisters and that they had to meet to elucidate the legacy of their father. In the chapters that follow, the story is unraveled.

Chapter XIII False teeth

Mud wrestling

Mindy that night was watching a mud wrestling program on TV, which was one of her father's favorites, suddenly the ceiling lamp began to sway and the walls of the house began to creak, even without perceiving what was passing, finally when she got up, she realized the earthquake, one of the neighbors began to shout that they all go out into the street.

Now reacting and without further ado, she went to meet a group of neighbors, a little scared by what had happened.

While there, was reminded of her sister Angeline, who just that afternoon had been at her house checking her father's belongings. As she had her mobile phone, she began to call her sister but she did not answer. Around her, the shocked neighbors began to receive calls on their phones. One of the neighbors, a police officer, asked them to remain calm, now they had to wait for the city authorities to report what could be done, for now they had to stay there until the alert stopped.

Tsunami

At the time of going out, all the hotel tenants and the manager and his assistant were already on the street. Angeline had forgotten with all that her friend Andrew was staying there, when he saw her he greeted her affectionately, asking her if she wanted some water. She felt thirsty at that moment and accepted his offer. Entering the hotel again he gave him the glass of water that he had offered him. The general atmosphere was of concern, most of those present were from other places and had no families there. The manager as he had a pocket radio with him turned it on to listen to the latest news. The newscast at that time was issuing an alert that a possible tsunami was awaited, so people who were less than two kilometres from the coasts had to move to the central park of the city where they would be most protected. After hearing the news, they formed into groups to start walking to the area away from danger.

Angeline and Andrew began to walk hastily towards the central park behind the guide that indicated the way to the groups. From all the streets more people began to join in the same direction, until it was saturated. Upon arriving at the central park everyone started to sit on the grass due to exhaustion.

Angeline then comments to Andrew:

"I never thought that this city would give me so many surprises"

To which Andrew, inferring that she was thinking something else, asked her:

"And what other surprises have you had?

Feeling unarmed, without thinking she confessed the reason for her visit:

"Andrew, it happens that I came to see my father, but it turns out that he had passed away, he left a daughter who is my sister that I did not know, today I have been at his house reviewing the belongings of my father who was a sailor, I leave a will of which I understood almost nothing of what is written, also old coins and other documents that my sister and I must decipher "

On hearing his entire account, he said:

"What you are telling is attractive, I am an expert valuing ancient objects and writings, I could help you if you allow it"

Not waiting for his response, she commented:

"Well for this I must first tell my sister to see if she agrees."

They continued there until dawn until they returned to the hotel and then each returned to their jobs.

Secret

Now at dawn Mindy felt exhausted, having been awake all night on the street, she spent time talking to the neighbors, who were attentive to the news broadcast, one of which alarmed her the most, was the possible Tsunami that he could sweep the city, the damage that had occurred in the city was minimal, so everyone could think that until now everything was fine, except that they had to stay out of their houses.

There was the neighbor of Mindy, Rose, who knew her father while he was there with her, she was the person who many times helped to be with her father in the moments that she was not at home. Rose immediately seeing her said:

"Mindy, I had days without seeing you, I see that you are recovered, I see you a little fatter. By the way, who is the woman who visited you today at your house?"

Mindy amazed by her self-confidence replied:

"Turns out she's half sister of mine, her name is Angeline"

Rose with natural curiosity said:

"I had no idea you had a sister, your father never spoke to me about her"

Mindy confirmed:

"I also had no idea of its existence, until two weeks ago"

Laughing Rose expressed:

"I think Thomas had more than one secret, and this apparently was one of them, I understand how you must feel"

Once the danger was over, everyone returned to their homes to rest.

Pray the rosary

While in her hotel´room and without having rested well, Angeline received a call from the person in charge of the nursing home, who told her that she should report there immediately. For what he dressed and hurriedly left, reaching the nursing home in less than ten minutes, there the residents were still in shock at what they had been through, many in their wheelchair and invalids had to stay there despite the tsunami warning that had been presented, everyone at that time was talking that the destination that day was not yet the one that God had marked for them for their journey to the heavenly dwelling.

As Charles was one of the residents in order to reassure them he put them to pray the rosary and give them words of encouragement, many of those who were there until that day had rejected the existence of God, but the event had touched their hearts for what that some of them approached Charles to talk more about what they should do.

Angeline, upon entering the main hall, found many of them still gathered around Charles, many were ecstatic by his words, previously the hotel manager had instructed her to help each one to go to their rooms to let them rest.

Angeline and the other assistants were helping each one of them, until Charles was the last one left in the living room. When he saw her he said:

"I see that you have not slept at all tonight, I imagine that you had to go with the others to Central Park to see the stars, ha ha ha"

She told him:

"It all turned out a little scary, but I survived, ha ha ha."

He replied:

"In my case I have not lost my false teeth, ha ha ha"

She surprised:

"I never thought you could have false teeth, ha ha ha"

Then Charles got up to go to his room since he had been busy all night. For her part, Angeline was released within half an hour of being there and was able to return to her hotel.
