Living in the house full of people can be intense sometimes. As someone who really appreciates silence, it can be challenging finding it inside so I often find myself in the garden or with chicken and cats, just to have that peace, lol. I wish we had more animals so I could take care of them as I find that very calming and therapeutic. But until that happens, I guess I can take care of the veggies and fruits when the season starts since our garden is quite big. :)
Unusual egg
Even though we had chickens since I can remember, I don't think I've ever seen an egg like this. The shell is hard as the normal egg but it didn't have a yolk inside. I placed it next to the normal eggs and took some pictures to share here.
Friends
When I went to feed the chickens this morning, cats started to show up and joined the feast! :) One cat that I see around often was not there but these three managed to get their breakfast. I still try to approach and pet them, but they are not letting me, lol. Anyways, I am planning to make a little feeding spot for the cats and leave them food there, I'll probably get some cat food too hoping it won't attract more cats because I think four of them is enough. :) And I believe one of them will have kittens so there's that... :D
Edit: I forgot to point out again that the food animals are eating on these photos is just leftover bread mixed with luke warm water. We give this to chickens sometimes and they love it! Cats too. And this DIY wood feeder is for that purpose only, we have another feeder with proper chicken food mixed with some grounded corn.
Pre-planting peppers
Today I helped my dad pre-plant some peppers. He got these trays so we can keep them in our green house and pre-plants some veggies to keep them safe from frost until we can transfer them to the garden land. We planted a pepper called 'Elephant's Ear' and we also got some seeds from another similar pepper but I don't know how it's called. It is also red and sweet but longer and thinner - we never planted this one before so we'll see how it goes. I'll follow the progress and post about it in the future.
