@son-of-satire
It's been a bad week. Tell me, if your child's university offered a course in bringing down the Republic, how would you feel? As Dan Lee reports, Butler University parents have been faced with exactly that problem. What would you do?
As if that were not enough, consider the impact of the Continuing Resolution signed into law by President Trump on May 5, 2017, which provided $7.472 billion for the National Science Foundation, an increase of $8.73 million, then read Rod Shimshock's story about an NSF grant to study "microaggressions." It's now reported that President Trump was disgusted with the budget CR, but let former Speaker Boehner talk him out of a veto. Barf.
Georgetown University Prof. Christine Fair displayed her nasty inner fascist by getting alt-right dude Robert Spence banned from his gym club. She did Saul Alinsky proud and demonstrated that Georgetown has no problem hiring gutter trash. Greg Piper has the story.

The American government is engaged in active persecution of American Christians via the National Park Service, which has barred a scientist from the creationist group Answers in Genesis (AiG) from entering Grand Canyon National Park to conduct research because his findings may contradict the park’s official position that geographic strata were formed over millions of years as opposed to resulting from the Great Flood described in the Bible.
Dr. Andrew Snelling, a research geologist who serves as the director of research at AiG, was told that he would not be allowed to get anywhere near the Grand Canyon to perform his work because the results could undermine what the park tells its guests about how this natural wonder of the world was formed. Dr. Snelling believes that it was an act of God, while the National Park Service holds an evolutionary view of its existence.
following the discovery of a photograph of University of California, Los Angeles' student body president Danny Siegel throwing up a gang sign, the Afrikan Student Union issued a series of demands to the UCLA administration. Specifically, the ASU demands a $40 million endowment "to address African-American underrepresentation on campus" and mandatory "cultural awareness training" for UCLA students. It also called for "safe spaces for ASU and its projects."
Furthermore, the ASU asked for a "Black Resource Center," which would "house meeting and safe spaces for ASU and its projects, such as the Academic Supports Program, Students Heightening Access Performance through Educations and the Afrikan Education Project." Alicia Frison, a senior at UCLA and the chair of the ASU, told The Daily Bruin that other universities have such programs and resources so UCLA ought to follow their lead.
"...many black students argued that the president's decision to throw up a gang sign representing the Bloods was appropriated from black culture."

4) Liberals Are Tolerant: The LEAST TOLERANT people in America outside of maybe the God Hates F*gs wackos are liberals. Don’t believe that? Try being a conservative who’s invited to speak on a college campus, a black man who likes Donald Trump or a gay American who opposes gay marriage and see how that goes for you when you interact with liberals. Think about the fact that there are college professors, actors and reporters who have to hide their ideologies because it would hurt their careers to have their liberal colleagues know they don’t agree with everything Michael Moore has to say. The most abusive people in America when it comes to women? They’re liberal men talking to conservative women. Incidentally, the second most abusive group are liberal feminists who claim to represent all women. Liberals are habitually nasty, dishonest and vindictive toward people for no other reason than because they’re incapable of tolerating even a politely offered dissenting viewpoint.

the School of Communication class was originally billed as planning to “discuss, and possibly engage in, strategies for resistance” to Trump’s “sexism, white supremacy, xenophobia, nativism, and imperialism,” according to the 57-word course description by Professor Ann Savage. A revised description issued after parents got wind of the course and complained moderates the language, but clearly leaves open the possibility of protest attendance and participation.
How exactly does one grade participation in a protest? Do broken civilian car windows count less than those of police cars? Does being arrested on national media count more than on local newscasts? And is there extra credit for being tased?

Now the accomplished professor, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, has set another example for her students: If you dislike someone and you see them in public, it’s your moral duty to harass and intimidate them.
The National Science Foundation awarded a professor over $200,000 to research microaggressions. Specifically, her research seeks to identify how microagressions keep racial minorities from comprising a larger chunk of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics jobs, and it seeks ways to improve minority representation in these fields.
This is a classic example of what happens when Congress refuses to defund a parasitic agency. Thanks, House GOP.
I have previously criticized Northwestern University President Morton Schapiro for his lack of support for free speech on campus. Unlike the University of Chicago across town, Schapiro has been leading the calls for limiting speech deemed to be a “microaggression” or offensive. (For full disclosure, I am a graduate of both Northwestern and Chicago). His lack of commitment to free speech has made him popular with some groups while alarming free speech advocates. That concern was heightened this week when Schapiro defended his efforts to give protected “safe spaces” on campus and said that some offensive speech should be considered a form of “assault.”
"Not to alarm you, but I probably want you to quit your job, or at least take a demotion. Statistically speaking, you are probably taking up room that should go to someone else. If you are a white cis man (meaning you identify as male and you were assigned male at birth) you almost certainly should resign from your position of power. That’s right, please quit. Too difficult? Well, as a first step, at least get off your hiring committee, your curriculum committee, and make sure you’re replaced by a woman of color or trans person. Don’t have any in your department? HOW SHOCKING."
Parents, taxpayers and donors have little idea of the levels of lunacy, evil and lawlessness that have become features of many of today's institutions of higher learning. Parents, taxpayers and donors who ignore or are too lazy to find out what goes on in the name of higher education are nearly as complicit as the professors and administrators who promote or sanction the lunacy, evil and lawlessness. As for the term "institutions of higher learning," we might start asking: Higher than what? Let's look at a tiny sample of academic lunacy.
