Hello Steemians,
welcome to the fifth part of our trip on the island of Sardinia.

After our 4 night stay in Porto Cervo we drove to our next pre-booked accommodation in Cala Gonone.

We visited the Castello della Fava (see last post) in the morning. At noon we took a bath at the beach Spiaggia La Caletta, around 5 km south of the Castello (not shown in the map above). You can park your car directly behind the beach, and if I remember right the parking was free in October 2009.

After the swim we went on the coast road SS 125 Orientale Sarda. In the early afternoon we reached the village Orosei.

The small town has about 7000 inhabitants. We parked right in the center of the village and strolled along the alleyways.

Although in the Mediterranean in the autumn the plants are usually already faded, we could admire very beautiful flowers on the buildings.

After the tour of the village, we had a little time to visit the beach of Orosei - Spiaggia di Marina di Orosei.

The beach is located on a very narrow but long peninsula. In the upper picture you can also see water on the right edge. In the picture below an impression of the narrow waters behind the peninsula.

Afterwards we started the journey to our hotel in Cala Gonone, but we had to overcome the mountains in the background first.
Thank you for reading!
